I might see the meaning differently, but the speaking part seems just right to me. Here's my way to view the lyrics. The first two verses describe a guy who wants to take his time (a breath), show the girl he loves everything she has never seen and would heat the weather just to hold her. On the other hand, the girl wants to leave and dresses up more and more (puts some distance). The next verse is about all that couldn't be more perfect even if they tried to change things (retake the photograph) : the kiss, the holding hands, walking around with no plan, etc. Still the girl doesn't seem to feel the same way since he'd rather forget all this. But the guy just ain't able to move on so he'll call anywhere and pretend things are the same. The quote is about giving a try to a relationship even though the person seems too good for you. It says tha no one is perfect and that only way to know if you're perfect for each other is to try it out. Sadly, in this story, the relationship is only perfect for one person... |

Yeah, I agree with Sonia. The song makes me think of meeting someone that is really your type, but not knowing if it's reciprocal and anticipating negatively the outcome of it. For the first half,the lyrics are quite negative : jealousy, not wanting to feel all this, anticipating the hurt, etc. But then, she came and tell him she feels it too after he had almost "washed it away" : Oh your face and everything that you say repeated. Song is awesome. |

I think this song is indeed about finding a purpose in life, but in my eyes it's also about finding someone to trust and rely on in the process. In the beginning, he talks about stumbling in life and needing a hand to hold. So he may have rushed into a relationship to feel security. The fact that he doesn't listen to the person he's with, possibly a woman, means she has nothing to offer to him and neither does he 'cause his hands are empty. He lost hope of finding the one he wants, but still hopes for this certain something to happen. |

Haven't heard the song yet, but yeah the lyrics suprised me in a very positive way. I can truly rely to this feeling when, after being dumbed or ignored by a girl, you question everything you ever felt and pray for feeling something else than pain. Good job. |
