Possibly one of my favorite songs off of "Shout It Out". I feel like it's one of those songs that anyone can probably relate to. In my life, there are times when I feel completely numb, like I'm an outsider looking in on my own life or something. During those times, any feeling is preferable to that. The way Zac sings it is utterly heartbreaking (as are most of his piano ballads, come to think of it), and that just adds to the emotion of the lyric. |

Love this song. For awhile there, it hit really, really close to home with someone that I wanted to be with so badly but couldn't. All the thoughts of being together, and the dreams of what could happen, and they all come shattering down in an instant, but the next day you're back at it, feeling the same way all over again. |

This song, particularly the last verse ("I gave it up for the shoulder of your driveway and the words I've never felt", and "Tonight I went running through the screen doors of discretion") sum up exactly how it feels to fall in love for the very first time. For me, it's a combination of being absolutely terrified and excited. This song is amazing. |

Yeah, my first thought was "Way to rip off Imogen Heap", and to be quite honest, much of her album is in the same style that Imogen Heap uses, but I really enjoy it anyway. Except her cover of 'Rainy Days and Mondays', but that's a rant for elsewhere.
I agree with SweetnessKitty - a lot of times, you forget the simpler things about life, and get caught up in the routine and schedule of things. Work, school, whatever, it's all your routine, and time flies by really fast when you get caught up in those things. The song is about finding someone who will slow you down, who will make you forget about those rushing things and appreciate life a little more. |

Those lyrics really hit me close to home. I feel as though everyone is like that at some point. Getting a hard dose of reality is really difficult and it's much easier to just come up with a pretty lie. |

This song makes me weep. A lot. For me (because I think songs can have different meanings for everyone, no one is wrong), it's about loving someone, and that someone is just not all there for some reason - they're stressed out, or having second thoughts, or whatever. You're longing for them to understand and wondering why you can't have that feeling back. Hmm. I hope that was coherent. |

i'm with etaklaiceps...the acoustic version rocks. and yeah, the guitar lines from "the ground folds" and "one eight seven" are incredibly similar. originality is good, but i think that their lyrics make up for it. plus...they OWN live. they're great. |

this is a really good song to be all angst-ridden to. i know that my friend melissa and i are quite angst-ridden quite often because of this band that we're sort of friends with...they play us off sometimes, it's really irritating, so we just listen to this in the car on the way home. |
