CKY – Bran's Freestyle Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Funny story: an article in newsweek has a list of the 10 best young directors. Spike Jonze (the asshole that did the fat boy slim video of evryone dancing in front of the movie theater and the weezer Buddy Holy video) is accredited for 'creating MTV's jackass' on this list. not true. CKY was the brain child of Bam Margera and Brandon DiCamillio, and had CKY(the bands) name attached to it due to thier music playing in the backround (and occasionally a video)and Bams brother, Jess being the drummer. Johnny Knoxville (yes, in CKY3 for 2.5 seconds) was hooked up with the CKY crew throgh MTV as a result of some exec seeing Knoxville's video of him shoot himself with tazor. Yes, you could call Jackass the 'censored MTV lite' version of CKY, but it's still funny as hell and kind of psychs you up for CKY in genreal. |
Jack Johnson – Mudfootball (for Moe Lerner) Lyrics | 21 years ago |
moe lerner was a guy Jack used to play football with. a big, fat hawian guy that you probably caught a glimpse of at jack's concert in central park with dispatch. |
O.A.R. – About Mr. Brown Lyrics | 21 years ago |
the whole brother thing is like you've done some messed up stuff in your life, how can you say anything about mine? what kind of person chases thier brother out of the house? i mean, come on, he's your brother, you know? |
Incubus – Hilikus Lyrics | 22 years ago |
the bass line in this song is fucking thumping. i love it. man, it makes me just a little wet. |
Ben Folds Five – Evaporated Lyrics | 22 years ago |
i listened to thins song everynight before i went to bed and it made me feel so....so something. it became one of my all time favorite songs and when ben came out for his encore and played it, i had to hold back tears. it means so much to me. you have to feel something when you hear this, i agree. and no it's not 'so emo'. ben's not whining to get chicks in this song. |
Red Hot Chili Peppers – The Righteous and the Wicked Lyrics | 22 years ago |
i love this song. it's one of my favorites. i think it's about how religion and conservitives, etc. are ruining the way people think and the way things are run. |
Red Hot Chili Peppers – This Velvet Glove Lyrics | 22 years ago |
i think anthony wrote this song for jon about them getting pver drugs and how thy'll always be best friends. personally, i think this song is a bout a best or really good friend. my best friends name is jon, and this song reminds me of him (not just because his name's in it). my eyes are like none that i have ever seen....somebody who can see right through.- yor firends can see through your shit. read the rest and you might see what i'm talking about. |
Sublime – Be A Man Lyrics | 22 years ago |
this is definatly NOT a sublime song. i have the same mp3, and there's no way it's sublime. |
Jack Johnson – Bubble Toes Lyrics | 22 years ago |
in central park i saw one of the best damn shows i've ever seen any musician put on. any one else catch it? |
Thursday – Understanding In A Car Crash Lyrics | 22 years ago |
this song brings me back down to earth, is what i meant to say when i posted the other day. me and my girlfirend had to do a lot of growing up very fast when she got in her accident, so this song is just like a reminder that when everything is going ok, then *bam* it can fucked up. No one wants to re-live or remember the phone call or the trip to the hospital, but it's a part of life that you have to live no matter how bad it is, and i'd much rather have those bad memories come back and bring be down to earth through a song than looking at scars or pictures. |
O.A.R. – About Mr. Brown Lyrics | 22 years ago |
ok, try to follow me on this: 'mr. brown' is just personification for the conservitive community. 'what do you tell your daughter'-how do you explain our generation to your kids, even though they're already doing the opposite of what you want them to. the 'hows your brother' part-although you strive for perfection, you've made mistakes too. and 'how about this weather' is kind of like a big 'fuck you', because we can do it on our own('amongst the lost we shall survive') what can YOU say about MY life? (nothing, so don't try)is it going ot rain on my parade? (no) is YOUR sole light as a feather? (no) am i flat out going insane? (again, no) and finally. the 'what's that you say when the rain won't go away' part: what can you say to all of us when YOUR parade was rained on? and no one's paying attention to you anymore? what's that you say? (nothing) does that makes sense to you? well, it does to me, and that's all that matters. i'm sure i'll find some better way to type that up tomarrow...try to bear with it. |
O.A.R. – Crazy Game Of Poker Lyrics | 22 years ago |
"they can take you money, and they can take your gold; but they can never take your heart, and they'll never take your sole" |
Dispatch – The General Lyrics | 22 years ago |
seriously. bottom line: the song is anti-war, and i think that's something positive that we can all agree on. |
Less Than Jake – Glumble Lyrics | 22 years ago |
that last line: "And when your thoughts are all you're finding Can't you feel your gears are grinding you into the ground." show that vinnie is one of the most talented lyricists in music today. who says ska and punk can't have meaning? |
Dispatch – Out Loud Lyrics | 22 years ago |
i like the idea of them seeing each other in a laundry mat or something, but i don't think the song would be as solemn as it is if that were the case. this is a heavy song because it reminds me of my ex so much it's scary. it's hard to look at it from a guys point of view, so i think of this song as a girl hoping and being insecure if the person she calls for or is looking for will call or look back to her, not only in a crowd or on the street, but ever again. i'd hate to put a downer on this song, but that's how i see it. it is still truly an amazing song though. |
Bob Marley and the Wailers – Trenchtown Rock Lyrics | 22 years ago |
"Hit me with music now, Hit me with music, harder, brutalize me with music." does that NOT say it all? |
Saves the Day – My Sweet Fracture Lyrics | 22 years ago |
they way he paints a picture just by singing is awesome. "don't you love those leave? don't you wish the orange stayed for ever?" don't you just wish people would be what you want them to be? i could disect every line of that song, but what i mean to say is this: anyone who can put talking to thier mom on the phone into a song, and still come out cool and getting the amount of chicks i'm SURE he gets, is some sort of god and should be worshiped. PS-pop disaster in NYC was awesome. |
Thursday – Understanding In A Car Crash Lyrics | 22 years ago |
my (ex) girlfirend lost her eye in a car crash, due to breaking glass. this song holds such a strange place for me. it's so fucking erie...it makes you live a moment in time that no one wants to, but can't help because we can't look away. i live it (and listen to it) to know what she's been through. why would i want to though? i don't know, but i guess that's why the song is what what it is. does that make ANY sense? |
Foo Fighters – Everlong Lyrics | 22 years ago |
ps-AHHH! february stars and Hey! Johnny Park will hold a candle to everlong. |
Foo Fighters – February Stars Lyrics | 22 years ago |
this is song is always over looked. everlong steals the album, but this song and Hey! Johnny Park are equally amazing. i just can't belive that these fucking awesome songs all came from one perosn and ended up on the same album. it blows my mind. |
Foo Fighters – Hey, Johnny Park! Lyrics | 22 years ago |
this is song is always over looked. everlong steals the album, but this song and february stars are equally amazing. i just can't belive that these fucking awesome songs all came from one perosn and ended up on the same album. it blows my mind. |
Foo Fighters – Everlong Lyrics | 22 years ago |
if a song makes you feel something you've never felt before and makes the hair on your neck stand up, that's undeniable. that's what this song did for me, and it has continued to since the first time i've heard it. |
Dispatch – Two Coins Lyrics | 22 years ago |
does anyones else think that "I want bones like iron/Blood like mercury/So I can tell you when I'm rising/Or When I'm sinking in" is one of the best lyrics ever written? or do i just do a lot of drugs? |
Dispatch – Time Served Lyrics | 22 years ago |
the line "the incoming of the incoming of a gun, oncoming of another year, the choice is yours, the choise is here" sends chills up my spine. it is amazaing on gut the van, too. |
Jack Johnson – Flake Lyrics | 22 years ago |
it seems so simple to me because i was living what he's writing about no more than two weeks ago. he was stuck in a relationship with a girl that he couldn't break it off with for whatever reason, so he has to lie to her and tell her everything's alright. or a relationship that's in a rut, they both know it, and are affraid because they don't know how to end it without hurting the other person. it's a rough situation, and i'm glad this song was around to get me through it. it didn't help me much with my run on sentences though. |
