Neil Young – Bandit Lyrics | 16 years ago |
to me, this song symbolizes the very concept of hope. no matter how bad your current situation, it's all gonna be alright some day. i heard it first in a car in the middle of the night, on the way home from a great concert (bonnie prince billy), and everyone got very quiet and listened. it deeply moved me then - and still does. |
Kings of Convenience – Winning a Battle, Losing the War Lyrics | 22 years ago |
this is a great song, almost the best one on the album. it always leaves me quiet and lost in thoughts when i listen to it... |
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds – Into My Arms Lyrics | 22 years ago |
aaahm..the lyrics are quite incomplete... it's the most beautiful lovesong 2 me, but i don't know if it necessarily is about platonic love. |
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds – The Ship Song Lyrics | 22 years ago |
it really surprises me that no one has commented on this song before...it's just beautiful. i'm not too sure whether i understand all the lyrics, but i love it. i would b glad if someone could tell me what is meant by *Come sail your ships around me* is it referring to his want to have her near him? or could it be interpreted as sexual?? |
Leonard Cohen – In My Secret Life Lyrics | 22 years ago |
i simply love this song. leonard cohen is one of the most amazing artists i ever had the pleasure to listen to. no matter whether you listen to his first cd or to "ten new songs" which came out more than 30 years later - his music is extremely touching, his voice always moves me inside... and i guess many people know someone they would still love to make love to in their secret life... *sigh* |
The Cure – Just Like Heaven Lyrics | 22 years ago |
one of the first cure songs i ever heard. captured me right away + made me love them. i think it ain't superficial at all. people should b careful using words like this in the wrong context.. in my opinion it is about misunderstandings between lovers or rather the incapability of telling those we love most about our feelings. we can even b concerned w/ each other, noticing it too late or just having converstion problems - until we lose the people we love. even if we want the same things, everything can probably go wrong. and we find ourselves alone above the raging sea of life. think about it. ;) |
The Magnetic Fields – Love Is Like a Bottle of Gin Lyrics | 22 years ago |
so much truth in that one... |
The Magnetic Fields – Abigail, Belle Of Kilronan Lyrics | 22 years ago |
oh yeah. she's definitely gonna b the beauty of county galway. great song! =) |
Mazzy Star – Flowers in December Lyrics | 22 years ago |
this one is beautiful. i like mazzy star's music, but not all of their lyrics say so much. this one does. i think it's about how we tend to take love for granted 'till it's gone. and then we wakr up and wonder why we didn't smell the coffee. plus: they say every man goes blind in his heart and they say everybody steals somebody's heart away that's a great part. strange, but it gives me hope in a way. it's gonna b ok. |
Eels – Susan's House Lyrics | 22 years ago |
this song is about the tragedy of life. period. |
Therapy? – Diane Lyrics | 22 years ago |
guess it's easy for everyone to see: this is a wicked story about a killing - from the point of view of the killer. a serious warning for girls not to get into cars w/ strangers. and a f***in' great song, BTW. :) guess it ain't a coincidence that "Diane" sounds like "dyin' " either. |
Soundgarden – Black Hole Sun Lyrics | 22 years ago |
yeah, f**kin' great song. guess i was 13 when it came out ond everyone kept talkin' bout the video which is really psycho - but in a good way. i heard once that the line: Heaven sent Hell away No one sings like you anymore refers to kurt cobain's suicide. on the whole In my shoes, a walking sleep And my youth I pray to keep Heaven send Hell away No one sings like you anymore is my favourite part. |
The Beatles – I Am the Walrus Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Stop it, I have to die laughing... :) |
Everclear – Overwhelming Lyrics | 22 years ago |
This one's really great. Altough I like the acoustic version better than the one that made it to the album. My favourite lines: It can come from out of nowhere, hit you when you're safe and warm. Take it easy, my star your time is gonna come, your time is gonna come. |
Pearl Jam – Wishlist Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Really really cool. Intense. My favourite is the Camaro-line. Dunno why. :o) |
