this is singlehandedly the worst single to come out of pop music this year. it literally makes my soul hurt. and i dread knowing that i'll have to hear this ridiculous song for months and months to follow.
i would like to use this forum to publicly apologize for purchasing a no doubt cd ten years ago. in some small way, i have personally contributed to the styrofoam monster that looms before us on this track, and for that i am deeply sorrowful. this confessional is my sincere attempt to wash the blood of culture from my hands. may god have mercy on my soul. |

very poignant writing. a song about a man looking back on his childhood and his father's alcohol addiction, but seeing the situation from his father's perspective in an attempt to jusitfy his behavior. in the same vein as death cab's "styrofoam plates", but with less animosity and more empathy on the part of the singer. |
