Well, you must forget how you boys stab us in the back and then turn the knife back and forth, back and forth. Anyways, this song reminds me of my ex and I. He's in the Marines and I'm stuck back here at our hometown. He really fucked my head up. I was so good to him and was always here for him while he went out and did his thing and had a good time. I was great friends with a boy, Brandon, and he died right before his 18th birthday in a four-wheeler accident. Bran was my neighbor and we walked home everyday after school together until I got my license and graduated. To me it means a lot, my fiance is a U.S. Marine and is on the Presidential Helicopter Squadron and flies quite a bit. I know he is just a portion of all that is guarding our country, but yet he is too. Therefore, it means a lot when it says "Then I can keep by your side". Another part is "coming home next year" because he very seldom gets to come home. I know this is not what the song means, about a Marine and his fiance, but that's what it means to me.
