You really need to listen to the whole album CONTROL before you comment on the lyrics individually. This album tells a story through all the songs. If you seperate the songs from one another you lose the meaning. The cd begins with the couple's honeymoon and chronicles the husband's affair and the consequences for himself and his family. It's a daring concept but very moving. Listen to it with an open mind. |

These lyrics are amazingly honest. I've struggled to find "christian" music that was more than hype. Pedro the Lion tackles the hard stuff. I love that this song doesn't have a "repent and be happy" ending. We're left with comfort through hope. "Peace be still." I love these lines...

OK here goes...Chelsea is right about MTV but if you don't like it you don't have to watch it. I had never heard of No Doubt until Don't Speak and Bathwater but i liked it so i went out and bought Return of Saturn, then Tragic Kingdom, then the first two. I love them all. The first two are more "circus music" not really ska. WAIT continue reading. SKA music is Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Reel Big Fish, Save Ferris, Supertones, FIF. But i still love No Doubt. Even Rock Steady. So what if they wanted to try something different?! The jamacan (crap my spelling skills) stuff and the reggae solos rock. steady. huh huh sorry. But THEY ARE NOT POP. Go put in a britney or vanessa carlton or Jewel cd (curse you for having one)and then kick yourself HARD for comparing No Doubt to that MTV fluff. I'd love to see them do try male lead vocals or a duet but whatever they do, as long as they are writing songs i can relate to, i'll love them. |

I LOVE this song!! Classic Donnas. The best line:You thought I would be broken-hearted. Maybe I would if you weren't so retarded. I liked their old stuff SO much better. The cheesy lyrics, the unpolished sound, the bad hair...it gave ugly girl bands hope! They look better now but they kinda suck. |

I liked this song the first time i heard it, but now it is on way too much. I think it sounds like a radio jingle during the verses. Definantly not Pink's best. Yes it pop! But i don't think you can define an artist by one song. I think people should develope lots of different musical styles. |
