Now first off I'm an old school GGD fan... went to school not too far from Buffalo, and saw a few early shows. so the evolution of their music doesnt bother me; if thats where they felt comfortable hey go for it!
My interpretation of Better Days is slightly more abstract. I see this song as being appropriate for the end/beginning of any cycle of our lives. I got hooked on this song thanks to my manager after my fiance broke things off with me just before my birthday a month ago. and it gave me the hope that there WILL BE Better Days.

i can listen to this song a thousand times and get a thousand meanings to it. All depending on the situation I'm in at the time.
Right now my fiance has decided we both need some "time to work our own shit out." Have yet to totally understand what he means by that, but this song really hits me in the heart. I see it as a relationship on some sort of a break, or on shaky ground, or just a couple who doesn't see each other quite that often, and one of them afraid that its going to end.
