Jamiroquai – Stillness In Time Lyrics 19 years ago
I agree. The melody makes me feel like I'm outside in the sun in a hillside a midsummer noon. Weird, eh? :)

Counting Crows – Another Horsedreamer's Blues Lyrics 19 years ago
I mean, "trying to be a good girl, give them what they want", and the part "Boys who can't tell one girl from another". I don't really know anymore, people don't seem to share my view. I was listening to it on my minidisc late at night, and the thought just popped right into my head. I'm probably wrong.

Counting Crows – Amy Hit The Atmosphere Lyrics 19 years ago
Uhm. Guess I was wrong there. I checked it on annabegins.com where Adam says that the song is about a girl who manages to get out of the hell, and is a clean girl today. Hooray. :)

It's pretty obvious that this song is about a prostitute, but I still haven't figured out what the horses symbolize...

Live – They Stood Up For Love Lyrics 19 years ago
It's a protest against war, and a tribute to love. Simple as that.

Live – Deep Enough Lyrics 19 years ago
Seems like Live is starting to concentrate more and more on sex... This is obviously the story of man that gets cheated on and becomes jealous not to say crazy. I dislike this song, because it's like... "live goes rapcore".

You're right. Amy was a heroin addict, who got tired of being what she was, so she killed herself taking an overdose of heroin. The writer (Adam Duritz) knew her and her group of heroin addicts, and it appeared they all had a common view: "they'd waited so long for someone to take them back home". The line "and some of us sink like a stone waiting for mothers to come" refers to amy who killed herself when she found out there was no way out of the hell she was in the middle of.

Counting Crows – Hanginaround Lyrics 19 years ago
This song is about feeling wasted and lost, and worrying about how your future is going to be... In the end he makes a conclusion, that he still has a lot of time to be "lost" before he makes a decision on how to go on with his life.

Counting Crows – Perfect Blue Buildings Lyrics 19 years ago
Captain, you've got it all wrong. The disease he's referring to, is boredom!
Just look at the line "In beds in little rooms in buildings in the middle of these lives which are completely meaningless"... It's practically giving itself away. The perfect blue buildings are symbols of what can make life boring; that everything's perfect. This is mentioned in several CC songs, to quote Monkey: "Hey monkey, what's life without an occasional surprise"

Counting Crows – Omaha Lyrics 19 years ago
To me, it's about how life turns people over just like leaves, just like the seasons change. I agree with you, infidel, the line is powerful. This song makes me feel... sort of sentimental.
