Switchblade Symphony – Rampid Lyrics

I've never heard the true version of this song...I've only been privlaged enough to hear a remix of it off of their "sinister nostalgia" cd. Since the first time I've them, switchblade symphony has been one of my favorite bands...but their lyrics, much like Rasputina's...leave something to be desired. Switchblade Symphony doesn't exactly contain the world's most poetic individuals within it, but they make up for it completely with their strong voices and music...especially in this one. It's hard for me to really understand the meaning of this song...because it's so hard to understand whether it has a possitive or negative meaning. It all is narrowed down to one single line, "We will find a way"...Normally, that would definately be considered a possitive optimistic meaning...but it because "fuzzy" when you look at the context it's in. Do they mean they will find a way to fade away, and to allow the sun to just destroy everything? I get that feeling...especially since it leaves off with "Fading fast away, fading fast away" as the last lyrics before it runs the chorus for the last time... Perhaps SS did this on purpose though...leaving it to the fans to come up with their own answer. |

Marilyn Manson – Dogma Lyrics

I really love this song...It's less subtle than a lot of his other works, but there's a beauty in the words themselves...It's songs like these by Manson that give you an insight on his life and past. It's a song written by a man that's striking back at society, for all the verbal, physical, and emotional damage it's done to him for only being what he is. And it's so true...So many people in society would wrather strike down what they don't understand, than to spend the time to cure the things in their own life that's gradually breaking them down. How so many people try to destroy the peopel they consider "evil" because they feel they're doing "good", and that they'll get some sort of glorification from it...But they're always still left with that "sour flavor" because in reallity their problems have nothing to do with the outcasts they hate so much...That's what I think Marilyn Manson in trying to convey in this song... |
