Jet – Timothy Lyrics

To me, it's about someone singing about their baby sibling that was killed by being dropped when the person was not much older ("did it hurt when you hit the ground?").
The "spaceship" might be one of two things: 1. a baby toy or 2. a coffin. A coffin would make sense because it's the "farthest [timothy] had ever flown"
"It's not what it seems but it is" and "she cried in the kitchen to let you go" seems like it was a hostile and abusive environment, and the abuser may have been holding the baby during a fight.
"Where have you been?" may be the baby's young sibling wondering what exactly happened and why is the baby not here?
I don't know.. just my take. |

it's not about his fans. it kinda sounds like it's from a parental point of view, like one of those dads who try to live their life through their kid's |
