| i agree with nineinchdoorsdown. "that man took my soul away" always implies sexual abuse, too. this is a very powerful song. 3 doors down deserves a lot of respect. this song really gets into the rage a girl can feel in a situation like this. | |

my initial impression of this song was pretty off. i thought she might be terminally ill, maybe with AIDS, and her parents we're aware. he's taking her to the doctor to see if she has it (AIDS) or not. they're both nervous. and the "now that i have found someone i'm feeling more alone" is about him finally finding someone to love, but he's going to lose her. there are obvious holes in my idea. but whatever. |

i didn't see this so much as a love song. i guess i just made it more applicable to my life.. so this is my crazy take on it.. annie is i guess an insecure person, maybe. she's got this friend who always says he's going to call her, but never does. she waits up late, hoping he will call. and he doesn't. "annie waits for the last time" kind of says to me that she's not going to commit suicide. i know it's really really morbid... but.. that was just my first impression. i'm not saying this song was written about this, it's just how i hear it. |

i've never heard it with "pack up, i've strayed, enough." i'm thinking it's called maps because she repeats the word "maps" a lot in the chorus, like alishajane said. but i don't have any idea why she does. i don't think this song it too different than any of their other songs that i've heard. |

I have seen sooo many people who think every single song that doesn't spell out what it's saying is talking about God. I'm not really a fan on Michelle, but anyway. The song is not about God. Thanks you Cjhalfirish for clearing up all the "Christian or not" talk. I've read in a few magazines some qoutes like that. Is it so hard for people to understand you can be religious, but not be in a religious band? But I guess if someone wants to sing these songs to God, or whom ever, they can. But that doesn't make the band a Christian band. Really, with about any song, you could say it was a religious song.
