Eminem – I'm Back Lyrics
|
One of Eminem's strongest songs, the first two lines grab your attention and rhyme almost syllable for syllable perfectly
Only thing I dont understand is that this song was track 11, it feels like it should be the opening song on the CD, I mean, its called "I'm back". And at the very end, he does this little cred thing, which makes me think this WAS intended to be the first song, before Kill you |

Eminem – 3 Verses Lyrics

This song is great, the second verse is the best and has the catchiest beat that its a shame he didnt include that beat and make it a full 3.5 minute song on one of his albums. Great song by Eminem, good rhymes, good beats |

Nancy Sinatra – Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down) Lyrics

Awesome song, heard it from the Kill Bill soundtrack. Pretty obvious meanings, thus why there are few posts. She fell in love with her childhood friend who was a boy, who eventually left her. All she has left to remnisce was their indians and cowboys game. I'm a guy and I think its great....it seems like a chick song though |

Eminem – Kim Lyrics

"duz ne1 actually kno wtf em's talkin bout wen he sez abt the 'double homicide and suicide with no note' ?? i dont understand. if kim slashes her own throat, how is she sitting there in the car wit slim? "
During that part, he's basically telling Kim how the police will think of the murder, if he lies to them. The police and society will think that instead of the 3 deaths (the kid, Kim's boyfriend and Kim) as being a triple homicide, they'll think it was a double homicide and suicide with no note |

Radiohead – I Will. (No Man's Land.) Lyrics
| 21 years ago
|
This song is about black people taking over in the near future and the surge that will be taken against them in their future says some very reliable sources for Radiohead. They fight to protect the recessive qualities of white baby eyes (ie blue and green) from black. The white men will go off and kill and lie in a bunker, where upon they realize what they are fighting for- to preserve the freshness of the white face |

I love this part
Too late to turn back now
I'm running out of sounds
and I am changing
And if we died right now
this fool you love somehow
is hear with you
These lyrics are immortal- I can't believe how underrated the Pumpkins are |

Eminem – Criminal Lyrics

Look how smoothly these lines rhyme: in my opinion, a brilliant rhyme scheme at the end
Windows tinted on my ride when I drive in it
So when I rob a bank, run out and just dive in it
So I'll be disguised in it
And if anybody identifies the guy in it
I'll hide for five minutes
Come back, shoot the eyewitness
Fire at the private eye hired to pry in my business

I got a beautiful wife, kids and a gorgeous home
What would make jump in the tub with a cordless phone?
I'm straight viscious I hit you with plates and dishes
Leave you eight stitches, what I'm gay cause I hate bitches?

I'm going to have to agree with Mizerable here. WHy the hell are we the only Blur fans? Personally, the self titled blur CD is my third favorite album of all time, and every single song (with the exception of chinese bombs) is good enough to be made a single. |

The Smashing Pumpkins – To Forgive Lyrics

A song about supressing childhood. 'Holding back the fool'. I learned by loss before I ever learned to speak- the worlds a shitty place, I haven't learned to speak yet, but I can already tell I've lost my innocence. A beautiful song. One of their best. |

Completely true. Very true what you said.
I cant figure out what my favorites are. I must say the whole album the Bends would be a signifcant accomplishemtn for any ban'ds 'the best of the __ band'. The very fact its not a compilation but thats a single album is incredible. Every song on that album is music video worthy. |

I really like the lines "DID I JUST HEAR SOMEBODY SAY THEY WANNA CHALLENGE ME HEAR??!? (HUH?!) WHILE I'M HOLDING A PISTOL WITH THIS MANY CALIBERES HERE?! PLUS THE REGISTRATION THAT JUST MADE THIS SHIT VALID THIS YEAR?!"
Thats great. I feel that angry sometimes and those lines are just perfect to describe how if somebody pushed me I would smash them in the face. I love those lines. Also the beat is awesome- one of the greatest Eminem songs |

Avril Lavigne – Sk8er Boi Lyrics
|
I think sk8r boi has a much deeper meaning then most make it out to be.
I think the sk8r boy referes to the inner self, the id, that Sigmend Freud refer to. We all want to say 'cya later boy' as we sublemate our contemptible juvenile thoughts. Who exaclt is this sk8r boi, thouh? We must look inside ourselves to find out who this is. |

Radiohead – 2 + 2 = 5 (The Lukewarm) Lyrics
| 21 years ago
|
First of all, what does this song mean?
I believe he's referring to synergy. Using the expression 2+2= 5 is a very common way to express synergy, a delighful and very cool thing to have. Other cool things is when its warm in January to have April showers and when everything is right. In his world everything is synergetstic. The rest, 'I'm gonna own you', is typical Radiohead dribble- sounds cool |

Radiohead – Sail to the Moon. (Brush the Cobwebs Out of the Sky.) Lyrics
| 21 years ago
|
I can't believe there aren't any posts here. Great song
I think the song is about reliving a childhood fantasy he had of sailing to the moon. His naievty is expressed when he says 'all the presidents should fly with everyone on the moon', obviously not to be taken literally. It comes off as sort of a shagging, romantic, seductive song and I don't think his desire to sail to the moon is altogether genuine- none the less a great song and one of the best off HTTT |

This song represents how you feel when you just don't give a shit and you've had a terrible day. Imagine a sleep deprived middle aged tired looking man walking down a street, watching calamity after calamity befall him and he walks and stares on indifferently. |

Radiohead – Bullet Proof...I Wish I Was Lyrics
| 21 years ago
|
Time to comment on MY FAVORITE SONG OF ALL time
I have two, duel meanings.
1) This came to me back in '95, when I was youngin, and I really like this theory. Ever had a childhood whimsy? We all have. Like I'm going to be this or do that and its just so pure and reflects your character at a really young age. What I thought was an adult, looking back on life and wants to recapture his childhood naive fantasy of becoming bulletproof. If I were to direct this music video, I would have two kids kissing on a dock at a starry night during the chorus: 'proooooooooooof'.
2) Came a few weeks later. A man being torn and hurt in a destructive relationship, and how he is resorting to have the most superificial kind of protection - physical, away from the pain that he has been caused. Hiding in a dark room, huddled up, bulletproof and completely invulnerable.
What a beautiful song. My absolute favorite. |

Wow, what a great song. Not very noticable the first time, but the more you hear this song, the better it gets. I love the ending and the guitar is so clean and good in this song. Also has a clear meaning, despite most other Radiohead songs. One of the best on HTTT |

Radiohead – We Suck Young Blood. (Your Time Is Up.) Lyrics
| 21 years ago

I also am surprised there arent more posts on this song. At first when I saw the title I rolled my eyes and thought 'this is gonna suck, sounds like some sort of rob zombie kind of hard rock song. When listening, I get the impression of a man in a village speaking on behalf of the town and is sort of drawn to blood no matter how he resists. I particularly like the 'ooooos' in the chorus- and how the piano crescendos during the chorus- chorus very strong. One of the best on HTTT |

Radiohead – A Wolf at the Door (It Girl. Rag Doll) Lyrics
| 21 years ago
|
What a privelege I get to post before people start adding their comments . I particularly love it when he says 'singing, I miss you' as if he's just returned from years without singing to start singing and begins to realize how remembered how much he liked it. Other great lines from this are 'investments and dealers' and at the end, which isn't posted 'someone always dies',. It reminds me of somebody who is thinking of the worst case scenario for everything ie 'well someone always dies', getting smashed in the face, etc. |

Radiohead – Like Spinning Plates Lyrics
|
This is my interpreation
The song is obviously not Thom Yorke personally, but that of a narrator who is being tortured and is on the edge of fragility. One can think of a servant in the roman empire, and a slave being tortured and fed to the lions, then their carcass thrown into the muddy Nile banks. These 'spinning plates' is the tenuous relationship that all of us engage in, the 'delicate balance' between choice and decisions. In the end, he concludes 'my body's floating down the muddy river', showing the terrible choice he made to tip him off the scale and result in. terrible consequences . For those of who have taken calculus, we all have functions, functions and graphs that monitor and can represnt our life. The toughest act is the balancing act- between work and leisure, love and friendship, compromise- these spinning plates. This is one of my favorite Radiohead songs. |
