Denison Witmer – Chestnut Hill Lyrics | 17 years ago |
this song drives me to tears every single time. |
Mineral – If I Could Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Cocteau Twins – Heaven or Las Vegas Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Planes Mistaken for Stars – Spring Divorce Lyrics | 18 years ago |
just what the title describes. the feelings of a partner wishing to divorce. "when the feeling is more than we can afford" - chills. down. my. spine. |
Evergreen – 250 Dollar Loser Lyrics | 18 years ago |
ok. my interpretation right now is that the song is about a parent or a lover that seemingly neglected the narrator while sometimes being overprotective ("why do you care, you never cared before?"). either way, the narrator doesn't feel understood by the person. the afformentioned parent or lover then commits suicide for reasons the narrator doesn't know or can't comprehend, which makes him angry at the person. the lines "no one loves you" represent his/her deep hatred which leads to him thinking that it is not possible for anyone to love this person. |
Jawbreaker – Ache Lyrics | 18 years ago |
the last verse kills me every time. especially when the chorus before fades out and blake starts to sing "lean your head on mine". |
The Veronicas – 4ever Lyrics | 18 years ago |
it's kind of a meaningless radio rock song but i'll be damned if it's not the best since the ataris' version of "boys of summer" |
Low – Sunflower Lyrics | 18 years ago |
so incredible. |
Dntel – (This Is) The Dream of Evan and Chan Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i think the song surpasses every song on the postal service album (though the album is amazing as well) but i have to say that the acoustic version is boring in my opinion. |

at their show at the donaufestival he said the song was for everyone "who loved their sister" i don't think anyone got that |
A Silver Mt. Zion – Horses in the Sky Lyrics | 18 years ago |
at their show at the donaufestival he said the song was for everyone "who loved their sister" i don't think anyone got that |
Virgin Prunes – Baby Turns Blue Lyrics | 18 years ago |
this is kind of like the ultimate post-punk pre-goth anthem. |

this song i basically the most depressing/uplifting song there ever was. |
Sebadoh – Spoiled Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i always thought it was "helpless, still describing" oh, well. |
Still Life – Looks Like Tomorrow Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i like how the lyrics switch from "he" (as in: a friend of mine) to "i" (as in: aw, who am i kidding anyway?) or "he" (as in: seriously, not me, it's really a friend of mine) to "i" (as in: he feels this way, i feel this way, too) i know it doesn't make sense. whatever. |
Evergreen – 250 Dollar Loser Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i think it could be about any person messing with the person's life and then just moving away from the person. maybe it is about a parent. a lot of the lines could lead to the classic misunderstood child, e.g. "you don't know me and you never will" or "so caught up with my life, when are you gonna live yours". but actually, now that i've written it down it makes as much sense as the failed relationship thing. so forget about it anyway. brilliant song, may i say so. |
Far – Girl Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i think the interpretation of a girl being molested is too obvious. i think the song has more to offer. the lines "you never said / you were just a little girl" in combination with "i am not to blame / i was just a little girl" could imply that something happened between two people, where one side (or maybe both) acted immaturely or at least felt that way. the people don't necessarily have to be a male and a female, since the phrase of "little girl" could just imply a stereotypical mental state of insecurity, naivety or something like that. these afformentioned actions then lead to alienation in one part as symbolized in the lines "you took away / my little place in the world" |
Metroschifter – Impossible Outcomes Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Dashboard Confessional – The Places You Have Come To Fear The Most Lyrics | 21 years ago |
i was kind of disturbed, when at first i understood "you can't fake it hard enough to BLEED". but actually DoorsFan does have a point, but it doesn't have to be the homosexuality. maybe it's just about a girl he loved, she broke up with him and he didn't get over her... everyone who experienced that one will see it fits in perfectly as well... |
Fountains of Wayne – It Must Be Summer Lyrics | 21 years ago |
i think this song is just the perfect summer song for any shy guy who is totally into a girl he can't reach. so it's perfect for me ;) |
Jimmy Eat World – 12.23.95 Lyrics | 21 years ago |

Death Cab for Cutie – Photobooth Lyrics | 21 years ago |
people who use "gay" in this way should get their nutsacks ripped off. that's all i can say to "guestofroom" dcfc are definitely a great band and this song is one of their best... it wasn't the first song i heard by them but this one got me addicted. and when i say addicted, i mean addicted... anyways, for summer songs i usually prefer foutains of wayne... but, ey, there's room for a lot of great bands, isn't it? |

the opposite of fleeing TO the city ;) even though you can use that song perfectly to describe how much you hate the countryside, at least i often do that ;) |
