first song meaning attempt here. He feels like he's put too much time into one person, and everytime he talks about the dirt or the grass, he's using it as a metaphor as a grave for himself or the relationship. The chorus where he says he's got friends in the right places, could be the singer saying that his friends have his best interest at heart, and they dont want him to keep wasting time on the person he's singing about. and the parts about when i need you i need it quickly, you'll never know. That could be his way of saying "no matter how much i miss and need you, you wont know" thats all i got, anyone else? |

Wow, so I can relate to this song big time. Where to start My interpretation. First verse he's having trouble sleeping but thinking about everything he's been through, he plays the piano and it is a great feeling for him. (Which is crazy after my gf dumped me i bought a keyboard piano and started playing, it makes me feel great) Second verse he's just saying he's not rich or anything all this time later but he sure has lived his life to the fullest, and he still talks about his past love, and who ever died in his life, i doubt his ex. All of it happend within one year. (Both my grandmothers died the same week my ex dumped me) Third verse he's surrounded by women but he's still not in love like he was before, he still misses his ex. He misses feeling like he was ontop of the world. (I have tons of girl friends, but i'm not interested in any of them, i just miss my ex) Fourth verse, he's pretty much just saying the past is getting further and further and he's just rolling through the motions of life and trying to fall in love again. He also talks about his mom aging, just relating to her that by the time he's her age he'll see a lot. |

Awesome song first off. Short and Sweet here, he's singing to a girl that he is in love with. Possibly she won't give him all of her, she won't admit that she loves him as much as he does her. I also know this song has to do with The Sinner's Lament, which talks about the body being like a cage, and being on fire. Kind of like the beginning of the song talks about. Also it talks about God abandoning the person in The Sinner's Lament, and it mentions the 7 deadly sins. Wow, the put a lot of thought into this song. |

This song is about breaking up between a boyfriend and girlfriend I think. He talks about William tell, who is known for having good aim, and he was also famous for shootin apples off of his son's head. So I think that his girlfriend dumped him and he's pissed about it becasue it was from the influence of her parents and friends. And the part where they go outside and play william tell is her ending the relatinship, and he's relating it to her shooting him in the head, or the eye by saing "you're the apple of my eye" Just a thought. |

I think I may have figured out the song. It may be a stretch at sometimes but I think it fits. Listening to the whole album and the demos from before I think this song may be about someone dieing from drunk driving, possibly a man killing his wife while driving the car drunk. The beginning of the song may be from the wife's mother's point of view. Talking about how her ride is waiting and how he has been drinking and going to take her life. Saying things like "leave your shell" maybe meaning her spirit will go on but her body will be left. Then she says "one more night, to be your mother" as in you are going to die tonight. Then the song describes the wife dieing talking about not making the frequency strong enough to remain. Maybe talking about her dieing and them trying to do the electric heart pumps. Or possibly her being in a vegitative state and them killing her off because she would never come back. At the end of this Jessy sings "We we're right" not "We will right." Maybe this is the family saying they never liked him and now they we're right about him. Anyway when he says "so breathe, yah you were right about me, can i get my self out from underneath this guilt that will crush me" I think this is when Jesse starts singing form the husband's point of view who was driving saying he feels really crappy about it, then he talks about Jesus even making him feel bad for waht he did. And when he's counting up to 7 it may be him trying to pray to his dead wife and saying "dont reply" because he knows she wont reply anyway. Also I know in the bible the number 7 is one of the numbers that is used alot. One more part in the song talks about not having to live on this dirt, and never having to find his baby in a crowd. Possibly just saying she's not alive anymore and that they wont live together and he wont find her in a crowd cause she's gone. Just a guess at the song, some of it could make sense, what do you guys think? |

Can someone who knows their history on TBS, Straylight Run, and Brand New please fill me in. I have been listening to TBS since 2003, and I am curious, what the hell happend with these three bands. 1. Who was originally friends of the three singers, adam, john, and jesse? We're they all close friends? 2. Why did Jesse sing in taking back sunday? Where was John during that time? Did Jesse leave on bad terms? 3. Why was there such trouble with TBS and Brand new? And now I hear John and Jesse sang together at a concert? So do they both hate adam or what? 4. Does anyone have all of thease facts in some sort of order? Why did Brand new write Seventy 7 and why did TBS write Theres no "i" in team? I mean what event happend to make them write these songs. Thank you. |

He's saying I'm perfect, I can protect you from your enemies, and I'll also take away your choices cause were going to war. When he says Isolate I think he means that He is going to keep all the information about the war away from Americans and that way we wont say anything about it. I think he really means this when he says "Go back to sleep" as if America is asleep as all this is happening in another country so we really dont know whats going on. | |
