Further Seems Forever – Madison Prep Lyrics

It's about college, or mainly moving away to college. I think it's kind of a song aimed at a dad who's kid is leaving for college.
"The training spent on all your words
was obvious in all we heard
was repetition."
Kind of like the dad had been practicing what he'd say on the day the kid is leaving, and he just kept repeating himself.
"Representing your best interests
while wishing us the very best
when that is something
that you would never give."
The dad is representing his best interests such as, I think, what he expects from the kid and what he wants him to do, but at the same time wishing him the best, when it is obvious that he doesn't really pray for that.
That's my take on the song. I don't have much else to say besides that. |

Gatsbys American Dream – The Dragon of Pendor Lyrics

It's on In The Land Of Lost Monsters, an EP. I read that this song's about how their label liked R&S but wished it had more choruses and such, and this was GAD's response. And I dare you to listen to this song and not want to dance. |

Amazing song, amazing book. When I first heard the song it reminded me of the Strokes, only to find the demo version on SATS called "Stroked." |

Wow, I never got this meaning until just now. I never saw it as about the scene. Thank you guys for clearing me up on that. P!ATD can really piece together a song. I love the change of pace when the chorus kicks in. Amazing song and band. |

Amazing song. Kind of like FOB's "Our Lawyer Made Us Change The Name..." to me, but not so much about the fans. Maybe it's about making it as a band. They say "make a name for yourself" and about not caring about what critics say. Not too sure about the wet dreams webzines part. Have a couple ideas but would like to hear what other people think. |

I agree with you fedorov1fan. This song kicks ass and I was mad when it wasn't on BOATS. This song is awesome. I'm not too sure on the meaning. It's the girl saying "is it true do you hate me?" right? Anyway it seems like Ken is pretty much fed up with this chick. She says she's been thinking about him and he says well you never called until today. Then the whole 5 AM verse. But not entirely sure about it. |

This song is really good. I'm not sure of the exact meaning. But I think the bridge goes...
"A mil' for a wedding ring,
a thou' for embarrassing, yourself"
Meaning a million and a thousand. It would go along with the theme of the song, but maybe that's just me. |

Sparta – Red Alibi Lyrics

This song is simply amazing. It's the one that got me hooked on Sparta and remains one of my favorites. Anyway, I think it's about this girl who has become a different person. "I'll try to find to find a place in your new life" may refer to him trying to be a part of this girl's new persona or whatever. And the chorus is talking about how she tries to hide who she used to be with "cover your tracks" and such. I don't know, I may be off but that's what I think. Great song. Love the part where the second guitar kicks in. |

Good song, also check out the version by Malcom McClaren called About Her. Not really a version, just some of the lyrics included but a lot slower. |

there's something after "just let me keep my dignity" and before "just say it to my face" almost sounds like "or for me" or something |

I agree with u Frannie, I do the exact same thing. As a matter of fact I just got back from their concert tonite, they kicked ass! I was lucky enough to meet Ryan, Sean, L.P. and the new bassist Alex (he rips at bass), couldn't find Ben though. You should go see them, they're touring with The Ataris and Juliana Theory and Further Seems Forever, so go see them, by ur tickets now! Oh yeah and this song is tight, they played it tonite and its cool. |

when Ryan says "When I look into your eyes, I can see, Such a sad man in disguise" is he talking about seeing his own reflection in his/her eyes or just the person he's looking at? Also when Ryan says "just for the sake of your mind" it send chills up my spine. Yellowcard rocks! |
