overall i find this song has a similar subject matter to "i'm content with losing" Maybe we, why don't we sit right here for half an hour. Who hasnt found a song that they just want to scream in a ceartain persons face. anyway, as most of you said this is a song about a guy pissed off about a break up. "From up here the city lights burn, like 1000 miles of fire" is him on top of a hill (movies cliche) wehre him and his ex used to hang out and hes seeing the city lights and comapring them to the desruction and hurt in his heart. "For a second i wish the tide, would swallow every inch of this city" he feels anger form some reason toward the city. may be the gasp for air part also helps make this clear but i cant see it srry its a bit random and probably lame but this is how i see it |
