Snoop Dogg – Vato Lyrics

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KPK5kLLj0U8
On this interview with Letterman, Snoop says it's about gang warfare between blacks and mexicans in LA. He says it's about putting an end to the fighting, in favour of peace.
I guess it shows in the lyrics; though you need to look for it. It seems to talk about his being a part of those gang bangs, but wanting to change his ways. He's a killer, but he doesn't want to be. That sorta thing. |

Johnny Cash – On The Evening Train Lyrics
| 17 years ago
|
I'm surprised no one's commented on this. It's such a moving song.
Johnny Cash had a knack for taking the songs other people had written (in the American Recordings) and making them his own. Personal Jesus and Hurt are obvious examples. Though the lyrics remain the same, the meaning is changed completely when Cash sings them.
In this case, the meaning doesn't take much explaining. I don't know much about Hank Williams' life, but when Cash sings this song, it's clearly about June Carter, his wife and best friend; who died shortly before he did.
American V is an amazing album. I've never heard any more touching album; as Johnny deals with loss, grief, hope and faith in his old age. If you haven't heard it, please listen to it. |

Spice Girls – Naked Lyrics

Roccer, you should really go outside more. If you hate Spice Girls so much, why are you looking at their lyrics? Why a song called Naked? There are only two possible conclusions. 1) You secretely love them, 2) You're a peeeeerveeeeert.
Or maybe both. Enjoy your white snake. |

Much as I love Chuck Berry and this song, I have to agree with DJacques on this. It's not particularly clever or witty. A fun song, but there's no lyrical genius begind it. |

Wow, that's awesome. Citizen Kane... Awesome. Like Robram, the 'speaking' bit reminded me of Jesus, except for the 'likes to smoke' bit! But now it all makes sense.
Jesus indeed...
Having said that though, Jack recently admitted that he almost became a preacher! nme.com have the details. Scintillating [spic] stuff. |

YorkeNThomeRbrillian - 6mm. That's the distance you need to move your finger to hit the caps lock button and stop souding like a twat. Apart from that, it's all good.
I also enjoy tentacled comments. They tend to say exactly the same thing for every Radiohead song. Good stuff.
More messageboard commentating next week. |

DC Talk – Jesus Freak Lyrics

I don't see how someone can say that Christianity forces you to hate anything. Christians are taught not to hate, but to love. Also, that's pretty rich coming from the girl who posted these comments:
-"...i hated it"
-"...another thing that is ridiculous about christians..."
-"that shows how stupid religion is..."
-"...which is pretty lame"
-"...stupid religion..."
Sounds to me like the atheist is the one doing all the hating. Also you go from saying that "if you're living in that christ stuff and you're forced you hate it a lot," to "they ... want the world to be happy and loving."
Perhaps you should sort out your own opinions before posting un-thought-out arguments and contradicting yourself.
God bless! 0:-) |

Nelly – Dilemma Lyrics

Ha, how amusing, lemme stick some quotes in here:
"THIS SHIT IS BANGIN"
"nelly's new shit bumps"
"This song is TIGHT"
"dam,diz shit iz hot"
"Dis the shit and Kelly blows out Beyonce anyday"
"Damn this shit DA BOMB... Anything from Nelly is off the HOOK!!!!"
"this song used to dope as fuck"
I can't even tell whether half of these are insults or compliments!
And Junkyarddog:
1. If you hate Nelly so much, why you here reading his lyrics?
2. No one cares about your opinions.
3. Does people enjoying Nelly's music harm you in any way?
4. Haven't you got anything better to do? |

I like this song, but I don't think it does their album, Onka's Big Mokka, justice. It's such a good album! And although this song is good, it doesn't compare to tracks like Achille's Heel, Summer Cycle, and Breathe! |

Grooveygroves, I'm not a huge fan of rap either, but the Jesus Freak and the Supernatural album both focus on rock. They used to be an all hip-hop band, but now they're all rock. In the JF album, there are maybe 2 bits where someone raps, and in the SN album, I don't think there's any rap at all! You should give em a shot! :-) |

I don't think that the songs about one person. It's not about the smart one, or Mary, or Greg. It's generally about the situation in High Schools of people's lives being taken from them for whatever reason. It tells several stories. Also, the lyrics aren't "and danced chinese theatre show," they're "at Mann's Chinese Theatre Show" Mann's Chinese Theatre has celebrity handprints you can put your hands into. |

Motörhead – Ace Of Spades Lyrics

I love this song. It brings a tear to my eye. I think it's about the singer's repressed love for a girl, who doesn't love him in return. He's tried everything, but he can't win her over. It's tremedously sad. Someone give this song an oscar.
In case you hadn't guessed, I'm ripping Ice-Dive. It's about gambling. Nothing else. Idiot. |

Eminem – Kim Lyrics

I think this song is pretty twisted. Ok, I'm sure that he's not really plannin on killing Kim, but even just imagining it is messed up. I've never been so angry at someone that I want to kill them, let alone in so horrible a way, and let alone their 4 year old son as well who had NOTHING to do with it! If you like Eminem, that's great, it doesn't bother me. I have a few of his songs on my pc, and I think he's very talented, but this song in itself is sick. |

Creed – My Own Prison Lyrics

Hm. I'd love to believe that all Creed's songs are Christian songs. But I'm not sure. I think that they are a very spiritual band, and have lots of questions about faith, God, etc in their songs. But they have said themselves that they are not a 'Christian Band.' They don't seek to write Christian songs. They also haven't said that they are Christians, they have said that they believe in God and have a relationship with Him, but that doesn't make someone a Christian. I am a Christian, and would love if all their songs were really Christian, but I think that the attitude I have seen on this site of 'Cos we're Christians, let's try to turn everything into having Christian meanings' is wrong. If the song is Christian, great, but I think we need to stop translating everything this band says as Christian |

Eminem – Cleaning Out My Closet Lyrics
|
I searched for this song cos I heard a bit on the radio and thought that maybe Eminem was actually apologusing to his mom for treating her like crap. But no, he's obviously just writing this song out of spite. How can people not see how wrong this song is? She's his MOM. She raised him. If he's so proud of who he is today, he only has her to thank. And if he's not proud of who he is today, he can't push the blame on her, he needs to make some changes. I think that Eminem is a sick man, not just for writing this song, but for all the others as well, and it makes me sad that people can sing his praises after reading this tripe. |

Smash Mouth – Walkin' On The Sun Lyrics

I think the lyrics are basically saying "Whatever happened to 'hippy' ideals about love and peace?" That those ideals have gone away ("This is a love attack I know it went out but it's back"). So, don't sit back and let good ideals such as love dissappear! That's my take on it! |

Badly Drawn Boy – A Minor Incident Lyrics

I think that this song is written for the film "About a Boy" and it is the letter written to Marcus by his mum before she tries to commit suicide. It says in the film that the letter read "I'll always love you" and it does say in the song "I'll be a better person on the other side I'm sure." So that's my opinion. |

I'm thinkin you probably mean Rapper, not Raper. If he were the world's greatest raper, this song would be quite distasteful. :-) Also, just to be REALLY picky, you don't really hear R Kelly rapping all that much, do you? He's more of a singer. Have a nice day! |
