yeah kaleidoscopexeyes i think got it. Wicked good song tho its on the second northstar demo [6 songs] with nick singing it, and i think the original singer on bass? It was the first demo as a 4 piece then next came i think one more demo with all the is this thing loaded songs on it, then the actual cd. BUt this is totally a killer song, definately my fave out of the early stuff im hoping they rerecord it too. |

i can see how you'd say that, buddy totally has that long drawly kind of thing to his voice the same as adam from taking back sunday, little more embellished in senses fail though, and the guitar players are fairly technical, a little thursday style. Plus ive read bio's where they totally talk about these 2 bands as influences. i think all their songs so far are good, no filler or anything all pretty rocking and the lyrics in this one especially are well written. to be honest it's not really his voice that really blows me away because i mean he's a good singer and all but he's not spectacular. I mean like Adam from TBS and the guy from the used, thursday those guys are all wicked singers but he's just incredibel what he does with what he has. I mean just how he writes the melody it's almost like its another intrument flowing all over the place. It's really goood in that sense, like he doesnt seem to just fall back on obvious vocal patterns. But anyways. this song is a great one, i love the intro verse. I think it's about an ex maybe that still totally controls him. BUt hes trying not to let her.

this song is SPECTACULAR. word has it [well on the cd jacket] that this song was in fact written by the other guitarist [not lead Nick Torres] Tyler Odom. Thats crazy cause these lyrics aren't AS abstract as the usual ones but there still really awesome. This song kicks butt just like the rest of the Cd. These guys will be huge. Support them now so some puck-ass moron doesn't call you a fake-teeny-bopper fan when there's 300 posts in this lyric. Go Northstar. And i think the song is another one about the crappy angst of 'love'. |

wow. this song is so.... awesome. Really, in the literal sense of the word. It's mind-bogglingly different... i dunno what it is. It reminds of songs like Street Spirit by Radiohead, and umm..... Coney Island by Death Cab for Cutie and there's one more....oh! Lowercase West Thomas by the Get up Kids. If anyone else can think of more songs that could fit into this kind of category [i dunno what you wanna call it] let me know!

Coooool. Whoever said this song is about Antonio, that wo8uld make soooo much sense. In my opinion, his lyrics werent nearly as good as Adam and Johns and if they think that to this song would really fit right. And just some of the lines in there "rest the weight you had your chance and folded", "those words were worse tha n teenage poetry" "your still gone" "mic and the mosh pit" and especially that heart on your sleeve part, thats taken [not word for word] from one of the older tbs songs that im assuming antonio wrote. Wow thats cool. any thoughts? |

wow. i just finished reading "A Prayer for Owen Meany" and it's definately the best book i've ever read. i couldnt stop reading it. and this song is definately about that book, and nothing else. half the song is direct quotes from the book, and the rest totally captures the feeling of the book. like surreal. im amazed how good this book is, and then this song too. owen meany is who the song is directed at, and the last part, about the palm trees is about death. and sky harbour airport is an important location in the book. anyways. read the book. |

ahh sari eat world, this has been said i think at least a million times under every taking back sunday song but they write them like that on the cd jacket to tell a story. and then rearrange them to make it fit the music. and some parts arent even said i.e. seconds to minutes to hours... ours? however when there live they whisper this part. supposedly it sounds cool. anyways this song is about the blue channel on tv! that lists all the titles of movies and tv shows because thats how taking back sunday names a lot of their songs! they watch that until cool movie names flash by and they name their songs by these names. yeah i agree with jelybu99 and also i was reading on an interview that they both have like notebook things to write down good lyrics in whenever they think of them\, and to me 1000 clever lines unread on clever napkins is the lines that he came up[ with say to her in songs and in person and whatnot but he just never ended up doing it. for some reason. |

well no, i just think the ending of the song doesnt really relate as much but then ending is about how kenny was on tour with this irish band and then he realized that thats not what he wanted to do. so him and chris [other guitarist/vocals] started aband and they named it after kenny's girlfriends roomate. whos name was moneen. |
