Bush – Warm Machine Lyrics 22 years ago
this song is about how there is no afterlife. it makes the illustration of light and sound and compares it to life and the ground (death). also, in the beginning, when he's talkin about trrends slowly falling (hell) and him gravitating spacewards and finding a home for his head (his view of Heaven) then the song is definately about death.

Bush – 40 Miles From The Sun Lyrics 22 years ago
I think this song is saying that just as soonas you are too old, worn out, tired or crippled to do something, you just find out that you can. The "40 miles from the sun" prolly means that you are about to die, cause 40 miles is damn close

Weezer – The World Has Turned And Left Me Here Lyrics 22 years ago
A great song, I listen to it every time I get in my car.

Weezer – El Scorcho Lyrics 22 years ago
Yeah, for some reason this song reminded me of Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, just because its so random even though it doesnt sound like it. My favorite part is that it sounds like Rivers is singing more against the guitar part than with it, making the song sound confused and leaves you focusing more on the song as a whole than on just one particular section.

Weezer – My Name Is Jonas Lyrics 22 years ago
possibly, I like this song because its got a great acoustic guitar in the background. I tried to play it but its hard as hell. I think that the song is about the loss of innocence, maybe drug use. A pretty little ditty.

The Smashing Pumpkins – Today Lyrics 22 years ago
I think that the genius of this song is the fact that it could be so hopeless sounding and beautiful at the same time so that the song both complimented and conctradicted itself. The catchy guitar, to me, represents that everything on the surface is happy and right. The depressing words show how, if you look beneath the surface, you find a whole world of darkness and hurt. It really is brilliant. In many ways, its about more than suicide, its practically a world view of everything having a nice appearance but a sad and futile depth to it. Genius in every sense

The Smashing Pumpkins – Stand Inside Your Love Lyrics 22 years ago
One of the most underated songs of all time. I love this song because it is just so epic sounding. It has this really emotional pulse in it that you don't find in many songs. The video wasn't that great though, it was like Billy and the band all in dresses and naked fat people rubbing themselves and Billy gets his head cut off.

The Smashing Pumpkins – Disarm Lyrics 22 years ago
I think Emo is right about smashing pumpkin songs in general and I think that Poptarts needs to be drug out into the street and mauled by wild dogs.

Weezer – Say It Ain't So Lyrics 22 years ago
I don't know if this is ironic or funny or what but I alway associate this song with the first time I got drunk(my friends were playing it). I found it to be addictive afterwards and I listen to it practically every day. Its a damn shame that music can't be more like this.

Weezer – Island In The Sun Lyrics 22 years ago
THE OLSEN TWINS!?! WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT SHIT!?!? Thats just about on par with George Lucas giving NSync cameos in the next star wars. I was appalled enough at the Green album and Maladroit just sucked, but this is just too far. This song represents everything that is bland ad unoriginal about new Weezer material. Predictable, shallow and downright stupid. For all you newcomers to the genius that once was Weezer, I suggest you burn your Green albums and pick up Pinkerton and the Blue Album. Don't even bother with Maladroit this coming may.

Weezer – Hash Pipe Lyrics 22 years ago
Centri Alphi is right. The only redeeming quality about the Green album is that...wait a second...never mind, forget I said that. I'm sorry but this is the beginning of the end for Weezer, they've traded any substance and strength behind their earlier work for standard rock patterns and a more "pop" feel. I don't know how the Edge could think this song is better than even the worst songs of Pinkerton and the Blue album. I will say, though, in the song's defense, it is somewhat clever to compare being an entertainer like Rivers and being a prostitute, which is what i think this song is all about.

skilzano is right. I heard maladroit(means "clumsy" in french) after a friend downloaded it off Morpheous or something and it sucked pretty bad. Theres only two songs on there I would even consider listening to more than once. I think Rivers has traded his personal touch of neurotic and clever songs for more standard, less emotional songs. I mean, if you compare Pinkerton to the Green album, they sound like two totally different bands. I don't know Rivers, but I think that the commercial disaster of Pinkerton made him paranoid about exposing himself to his audience and now he just hides behind bland and shallow music like that of the Green album and Maladroit.

Weezer – Buddy Holly Lyrics 22 years ago
to me its just a fun song that you don't really want to understand. I mean, the lyrics are so random, it goes from the mock-slang in the beginning into the "Woo-ee-oo" stuff and the last part with the "Bang-bang, knock on the door" sounds like a nursery school rhyme. Its just a cool little schizophrenic ditty. One of the best on the blue album

Weezer – Undone - The Sweater Song Lyrics 22 years ago
I agree with mr.g, its about just wanting a ceasefire in a bad relationship, not wanting any more fights, although most of the song is pretty vague. Tied with Say it Ain't So and El Scorcho for best Weezer song

Weezer – Only in Dreams Lyrics 22 years ago
The guitar is perfect and the base line is great because it provides this subtle pulse that everything else in the song revolves around. Its not without flaws, though. "She says, 'hey baby, I just might take the chance'". A pretty corny phrase, if you ask me. This doesn't make it a bad song, or anything, its great, but it suffers from some lame lyrics. Still alright though, just not as brilliant as the rest of the album.

Weezer – Falling For You Lyrics 22 years ago
This song really grabbed me as soon as it atarted playing. Rivers Cuomo is the only man on the planet who can sing the words "holy moly" and make it sound cool. Also, much like all the other songs on Pinkerton, this one doesn't use conventional rock patterns, giving it a desperate and confused feel that compliments its lyrics. A great song
