This is a great song, not by any means the best on the album, but a great song none the less.
I totally love the second verse, it's so well written and just...well....great!
The line "when it all falls down, I'll still be right here" is beautiful too, it describes how I feel about my boyfriend. Erm...he's watching me type this so maybe I shouldnt have said that *embarrassed* |

I'd say this is definitely about a relationship where one of them has depression. One of my brothers suffers on and off with depression and the line about becoming crueler is something that happens, I think. Depression is one of those illnesses that is quite hard to understand and you do lash out a bit, more because having someone around who suffers depression can be quite stressful (that probably sounds selfish but hopefully you know what I mean) and very worrying so you tend to be more on edge.
The line about crying and scars all fits in with depression as well, as one of the first signs of depression is often crying a lot for no particular reason. Self harm is also another sign of depression.
The "I know my love this is not the only story you can tell" fits in too, as most people who know someone has depression tend not to be able to see past the depression.

I love this song. It's so beautiful. It is quite vague, but that's good as it means it's open to interpretation and it can fit whatever meaning you want it too. To me it's about learning from your mistakes and not letting them happen again. It seems he's singing it to someone else though, a close friend or something. |

To me, this song is about overcoming all the problems in life and learning from your mistakes- knowing that you can't keep running, you have to face up to reality. Another fantastic song from a fantastic band. Love 'em! |

This song is one of my favourites. I work for Social Services and know of so many girls (and, indeed, guys) who would love the opportunity to shoot the perpetrator of their abuse.

My interpretation is that the girl loves him but doesn't really know who he is, there's a secret that hasn't been told or whatever and how hard it can be to keep the charade up. I guess either party (sorry, work for a legal department) could be the holder (so to speak) of the secret. |

I looooove this song!!! I'm in a long distance relationship and this songs sums up PERFECTLY how I feel. There are times when it gets sooo hard and I put this track on and it's echoing what I'm feeling perfectly. I can relate to every line. |
