ya, i dont agree with druggie. why? because he is forgetting what this music is all about. people arent "fucking posers" because they misinterpret a song. people often forget that the song means whatever you want it to mean. who cares if its secretly about drugs, its however you want to interpret it. and this pettyfreak dude who just posted. are you saying that i need to carefully inspect the lyrics of a band that i like before i can call myself a fan? i dont know about you buddy, but i think its pretty safe to say that if you had to study the lyrics of a song to be a fan, most bands wouldnt have 1/1000th of the fans. so what im saying is its not what pettyfreak said: "i guess you can only relate if you are a 'druggie' yourself" relate to the song in your own way, and if it sounds good, and you like it, then consider yourself a fan. |

no, if you listen to any other band besides the white stripes, (Led Zeppelin for example) you would understand that the downside of the white stripes are their lyrics, they are not good lyricists at all, especially this song. Im not saying it ruins the song, cuz this is a very good song, but it means that i dont respect the white stripes as much as i respect zeppelin. |

the white stripes are not the next K. Cobain, or the next Hendrix, the thing about the white stripes is, you can tell what kinda music they listen to. Their songs definetly have punk influence (particulary the Ramones it seems to me), that one is obvious, as is the grunge influence (Nirvana), and some of their songs totally have blues influence in them (especially Suzy Lee) which i think comes from Led Zeppelin, seeing as how they had alot of blues influence in their songs. And if it has Led Zeppelin influence, then that means they have classic rock influence, which is evident from his guitar solos (he wishes he was jimmy page, hehehe) To me, they are a hybrid of the greatest of punk, grunge, classic rock, and blues. |

this band totally blew me away when i first heard them.... a modern mainstream band with led zeppelin, ramones, and nirvana roots? ive been waiting for a band like this. its obvious they listen to lots of zeppelin, especially from this song. The guitar playing is inventive, with a blues sound, definetly the way zeppelin did it. If someone told me that zeppelin wrote this song, i might have believed them, and thats why this band is the only good new band out right now. |

ok, how many of you of actually listened to this song? many of you just talk about how this song sounds retarted. i mean, if you turn your back on metallica just cuz you hear of a song the do with a rapper, then thats pretty sad. aerosmith and run dmc pulled it off, anthrax and public enemy did one, and so did ozzy and busta rhymes. so you cant turn your back on metallica cuz of one song. sure rap sucks, but you guys make me sick. |

ok, i dont think anyone has nailed what this song means so far, but it sounds like marleyiskey has the most plausible explanation. the part about the girl with flowers in her hair can totally be about california, seeing as how it has an unusually large amout of hot girls, but anyways, its a great song, very mellow and easy to listen to. |
