A Silver Mt. Zion – Horses in the Sky Lyrics
| 16 years ago

I find it an amusing irony that the google ads on this lyrics page are trying to sell Jesus when you consider that Efrim and his music are very much Jewish, but I digress. This album is quite sad, very poignant. I do hope they release another soon. |

KMFDM – Intro Lyrics

Sascha says "Jawohl!" at the end, for no particular reason. I can't believe that was left out here. :P
What's great about this song is that it's actually more of an extro, because it's at the end of the album. |

This and DIY are probably my favorite songs for now. This one sounds a bit poppy for KMFDM, but it's great. |

I don't like AFI at all, but this song is ok. I like it because I can pretend it's about Satan and be all anti-religious with it. Woot. |

You can type them on Apple keyboards, and you can set it up to allow them in Linux. Wow, delayed response. :)
Otherwise, you can put an e after the letter instead of an umlaut over it, and ß can be replaced with ss. Now let's see if you ever get this. :) |

The Juliana Theory – This Is Not a Love Song Lyrics
| 19 years ago
|
I am of the opinion that this song may, in fact, be a love song. After all, The Juliana Theory did release an album called Emotion is Dead. If Emotion is Dead was full of emotion, then why can't This Is Not A Love Song be a love song with a similarly ironic title? |

The Juliana Theory – Breathing By Wires Lyrics
| 19 years ago

Oh, and I think the misconception that they are a Christian band comes from the fact that they were on a primarily Christian label , Tooth&Nail, when they released a lot of their albums before Love. On the other hand, it could also come from the fact that Brett Detar was (is?) a member of Zao, which I believe -is- a Christian band, albeit with a much heavier music style than is the norm. Imagine that... Brett Detar growling out lyrics with Christian undertones. |

The Juliana Theory – Breathing By Wires Lyrics

Well, forgive me because I know this isn't what it's about -- this song makes me think of The Matrix. Except it doesn't suck like The Matrix. No, really, this is a great song and I love it. I don't think you can pin it to one type of machine, though, because it seems that it has some aspects of computer-addicted net.goths along with our general society who seems to be dependent on machines. You could connect it with telephones, television, or even video games. The last one, of course, would explain the line "...a network of heroes / processing data as ones and zeros".
That being said, I'm off to tend to my perfectly healthy long-distance relationship. |

VNV Nation – Serial Code Lyrics

This song seems to be a heavily abridged version of Serial Killer. Please prove me wrong.
What I notice is a similar beats, similar titles, and the final stanza (is that the right word?) from Serial Killer repeated as the first in Serial Code. |

L'âme Immortelle – Another Day Lyrics

Alternately, this could be about a lover who is dead, away (for some unknown reason -- war, saving the world, et cetera), has disappeared, or whatever. It's a pretty cool song, though, and I like that it seems to end on a happier (but still melancholy) note. |

L'âme Immortelle – Love Is Lost Lyrics
|
This song is clearly about something or another; maybe it's George W. Bush.
-The first stanza is describing the death of the world after nuclear holocaust, the direct result of World War III.
-The second is describing our present situation -- the violence in the middle east, American imperialism, and the Religious Reich attempting to assert Biblical values on others.
-The third is about the Abrahamic religions (Christianity, Islam, Judaism) who spread as if harvesting souls, crushing opposition. In the end, the fog of war blankets all. The devil himself, then, takes advantage of the conflict between these groups and uses his influence over hatred to gain control.
-The fourth and final stanza, then, is a warning that Satan is not the cause of the turmoil -- it is our own hatred and ignorance that brings about our ultimate destruction. Satan only capitalizes on what we ourselves have done.
Clearly, I just pulled all of that out of my ass and it's probably all wrong. I mentioned Bush because, you know, that's edgy. Maybe it'll get some conversation going.
The last bit's pretty good, though. |

The Juliana Theory – Emotion Is Dead Pt. 2 Lyrics
| 19 years ago
|
Kineth beat me to it by about a month. Well, yeah, and the one liner at the end just reinforces the unity of the two tracks. They did the same blend together with Emotion is Dead pt.1 where if sort of transitions to If I Told You This Was Killing Me..., and I always thought that was really cool. This makes me want to break out the old Emotion is Dead CD and have a listen again. This song (in combination with the Sonic the Hedgehog games) is actually what got me to listen to electronic music, oddly enough. |

The Juliana Theory – You Always Say Goodnight, Goodnight Lyrics
| 19 years ago
|
This is my least favorite song on this CD, actually. Care to guess what I like? Yeah, like everyone else: If I Told You This Was Killing Me, Would You Stop? Anyway, I think the whole screaming thing is stupid in songs where it doesn't make sense, i.e., songs that are not expressing anger.
Anyway, Emotion is Dead was a really good CD. It's a shame Love was such rubbish. |

E Nomine – Deine Welt Lyrics

I understand the gist of this song. It is about the apocalypse, to be very general about it. If you want a very bad translation, here is a link to what google's translator puts out: http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.songmeanings.net%2Flyric.php%3Flid%3D3530822107858486750&langpair=de%7Cen&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&safe=off&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&prev=%2Flanguage_tools
Most of E Nomine's songs have some form of Biblical connection -- even the name E Nomine, which means Out of the Name of (as opposed to In the Name of...). |

KMFDM – Leid Und Elend Lyrics

This is, without a doubt, my favourite KMFDM song. However, I believe it should say "Du bist meine Taste am Klavier". Incidently, that's my favourite stanza in the song, too. :)
By the way - glad to see the song -with- all the umlauts (¨), as many people ignore accents when writing in foreign languages. |

Ehh...I noticed this song has a reference to Konstantine by Something Corporate...as well as possibly others...what's ironic is that the line that is referenced is just before (or part of) a reference to a Jimmy Eat World song.
"There we sat in a parked car trying to find the words.
You held my hand and whispered a quote you heard somewhere.
It was something about dying by my side,"
That being a reference to...
"it's to dying in another's arms and why I had to try it
it's to Jimmy Eat World and those nights in my car
when the first star you see may not be a star" (From Konstantine)
....and there you have it. Sort of a double reference |
