| The Kinks – Around The Dial Lyrics | 3 years ago |

I really think that The Kinks were bemoaning the new wave/ punk rock movement which erupted around the era this LP was released. Its just such a high (low?) sarcasm from them, about a 'great' DJ who played the popular music, but now...has mysteriously disappeared. It's the same old, same old BS argument about "what happened to the good music". One should remember how much Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and many other now - highly lauded and regarded musicians were once scorned and derided as terrible musicians. Just my $0.02c. |

| @[5jh:28655] I'd go further - I think this is the very best rock song that has ever been written... | |

| @[Mickyfinn:28654] so...are you saying that Jesus was a fool? I personally think this verse is about somebody who is so poor, all they have is money...he's been "right around on a golden ring" and has nowhere to go - but down...he has nobody...he's in an "empty home" - this ain't Jesus! No sir! | |
