| Van Morrison – I Forgot That Love Existed Lyrics
| 1 year ago
|
You can forget that love exists. There is time in your future to forget all about what you know now. Van is writing this after 20 years of making music, on the album Poetic Champions Compose. Countless women and that includes plenty of women. Countless albums and countless cities. Divorce, other countries. Music industry. Plenty of time to forget about a feeling you suddenly realize that it is still there, because something comes up and brings it back to life.
For me at my advancing age, I have to go back to a place that time and everyone forgot. Everyone forgot I existed. It is like forgetting that love existed. The past tense of it all, is uplifting. ForGOT. Forgot that love existed. Great uplifting song. |

I am pretty sure he was writing a song about Razzle from Hanoi Rocks. Yes I see he was obviously using that reference from the 60s cartoon, but who's to say he's not doing both.
What I always think of is Razzle going out of the picture, as he was a placeholder in the music industry then these guys waiting in the wings and getting famous. So Razzle could be said to be holding the life for them. He goes home to god, and now they come alive to fill the vacancy.
Probably just imagining things. But I am sure the Razzle death made plenty of headlines though not ones I was likely to see as an 11 year old. But Paul not so much. I'm sure he was kept apprized of something like that in his Skyway cafe. |

This is an interesting song. I listened to it for 25 years without ever knowing it wasn't just an innocent song about a woman who wanted to shoot a gun. Then one day someone on the internet pointed it out it was about a junky girlfriend. At first made my blood run cold but I can see it now. Cheers Bon. |

I'm pretty surprized that nobody divined that this is about doing coke. I didn't get it being about drunkenness, but I watched the video of these guys and I have to say it sounds likely. The rape...well you said it not me. |

I am American and this was always a popular song in the USA. But I had to come here cuz I cant get this line out of my hed 2day. "I followed the Moskva, down to Gorky park" apparently its an old finnic word for dark and turbid, which names the city and river which Napoleon was bested by in days of old. Anyway its a great song and with cannabis legalization hitting so hard we will finally see the end of Nazi philandering in the times to cum. AND THAT IS VERY GOOD FOR CANNABIS LUVERS SUCH AS US. Hooray Canada FULLY LEGAL FOR ALL God bless Poland (med legal fall 2018), Michigan, Utah and Missouri, ALL new legalization measures fall 2018, whats that on the wind its Purple Haze my darling. |
