@[katerina418:46799] VERY interesting interpretation. This song is my favorite song of all time (Rita's version), and I never thought about it as a song about death of a loved one. But what you say makes sense. |

@[jamesclark111:28957] I know what you mean. I grew up a latch-key kid, home alone most of the time on weekdays. So I can't say my social skills are great, either. It's sad, but I have many animal friends to keep me company. :-) |

Boz Scaggs – We're All Alone Lyrics

First of all, We're All Alone is in my top 5 favorite songs of ALL TIME, and I am over 50... so I've heard plenty of songs, ha. In my opinion, this song is about intimacy, plain and simple. I understand it seems like a sexual song, but sex and intimacy are NOT the same thing. Example: I can share an intimate afternoon with my Dad, opening up and sharing my feelings about something, but that has NOTHING to do with sex. Think about the lyrics, is there any reference to a bed? Or anything that is OBVIOUSLY sexual? Is it possible the couple in the song maybe only shared some deep conversation over a glass of wine? Don't laugh, not everybody has X-rated thoughts running their their minds 24/7. TO ME, this song is, as I said, about intimacy. And I admit I am surprised that Boz Scaggs wrote such a beautiful song, I really am. |
