The Cure – Young Americans (David Bowie cover) Lyrics 4 years ago
@[sepherenia:33222] Are they kidding me? I just wrote a paragraph on my love for Robert's version of YAs and my reply got erased; ugh! So, gonna keep it shorter this time.... I love The Cure and Robert's voice should be preserved for all time (can they do stuff like that yet lol?). I'm really a Who Fanatic from way-back (they sing to my every cell inside of me! They'll always be my #1's!) but sorry Pete and Roger, I (currently)
do love the sound that comes out of Robert! Long Live Rock & Roll !

The Who – My Generation Lyrics 4 years ago
@[who_rock:32422] Of the handful of explanations I've read re
the case of "Who said to put that famous stutter in the first Who Anthem, anyway"? I wonder if, before they released it, if any one of The Who members; Pete in particular, if they were able to project how powerful, important, impactful, and beautiful "My Generation" would become to their generation (plus the generations that have followed)? I gotta believe that when their work on 'MG' was finalized in the studio and they could playback their creation - they knew they had made more than a hit..I wonder what was going through their minds and bodies (something only a performance artist can experience; I get it; and they deserve lotza huge accolades!) Anyway, my wager is definitely on @[who_rock:32422]; you, sir gave the answer that most sounds like The Who; they got lucky in the important moments, didn't they? To 'stumble' upon a 'blah-blah'; which happened to be exactly what they needed at that very moment? And, wink-wink, I'm sure it didn't have anything to do with their strong dedication and discipline to their craft! Yes, they are a very disciplined band!). They earned every penny and applause, they did!
I think I Did see a very quick slice of film that was obviously a studio where Roger was stuttering into the mic and then ya hear someone off-camera saying exactly what @[who_rock:32422] said he heard.....and so it goes.

Meat Loaf – Life Is a Lemon and I Want My Money Back Lyrics 6 years ago
@[zoton:26097] Totally True! I’ve listened to it a lot today already...pumps me up! But then, I always find myself REALLY wanting my money/life/time back (from a specific jerk) and then there’s like a ‘come down’ as I know all I can do is carry on. He won’t get caught. He’ll never reflect back on his transgressions made against us. But, I get fired up again because he’s history to me! And, mostly I think: He’s still (name withheld) and I’d rather be Me; even with all crap he left me to do and stole and, on and on....so, I listen Again, just for the fun of that powerful song!

Jim Steinman – Rock & Roll Dreams Come Through Lyrics 6 years ago
I read somewhere that Rory Dodd sang “Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through” on Jim’s “Bad For Good” album. That lead me to check further into this. Wikipedia confirms Rory as singing 3 songs, actually. But, as I read on, my jaw dropped at the Well-Known Talent associated with this album (and all of Jim’s stuff I researched)!
It’s unbelievable how he has the ability (talent) to work with EVERYBODY who’s ANYBODY! That Jimmy is In his very own category! And, he’s not my favorite (that goes to Pete Townshend/The Who), though my words may have seemed to say otherwise. I just wanted to share that he’s Undeniably Amazing....and an interesting character to learn about, for sure. It was fun spending time getting informed about Jim Steinman. Try it, you’ll like it...
