Led Zeppelin – D'yer Mak'er Lyrics 6 years ago
There is no mystery to the meaning of this song. It's pretty clear that it's about a couple breaking up. One wants to break up and the other doesn't. The one that doesn't want to break up is begging for the other to stay and is heart broken and pitiful. It certainly doesn't seem sexy to me. It's fucking sad! And Page's whispering at the end is weird but has no bearing on the meaning.

Queen – Killer Queen Lyrics 6 years ago
RedShana's interpretation above comes fairly close to what I believe this song is about. Kudos RS! Well thought out and you don't miss much. I agree the song is about a high end prostitute. The prostitute is definitely male. People please, when interpreting something try to remember WHEN it was written and performed. This was the 70s. We had to rely on inuendo and be very clandestine, especially as regards what now would be called LGBT subject matter. Often the true meanings were laid between the lines, although I agree with RedShana, Freddie was pretty clear on most of this, for anyone who was tuned in and looking for it. Killer Queen is about a man who is a seemingly delightful very high end prostitute for men. Although I love the idea of the assasin someone had, I know that isn't really what the song is about. Also, someone said something about AIDS, um no! This song was written before AIDS was on anyone's mind. That didn't come until the 80s. Also, "killer" was a way of saying something was extremely good/cool, etc. As in, "did you see the new movie? It's killer, you got to see it." So, to sum up, KQ rocks out about a high end male prostitute for gentlemen, who is a real pleasant, playful, charming type to the lucky clients, and therefore, comes highly recommended.

Bob Dylan – Just Like a Woman Lyrics 6 years ago
It's interesting that the lyrics are talking about someone in the third person using "she" on the first two verses then afterward switches to "you", like the person being addressed in the song is yet different from the person that the first two verses are about.

@[magicaudiomale:21228] I agree very much with your interpretation. It is about loneliness and being either misunderstood or reviled in some sense for what he does. He feels his children should have better, and he misses a close relationship that he used to have but is no longer there, and perhaps will never be again. And there is no immediate remedy for his situation.

I think this song is about somebody that is thrust into a position of popularity and stardom that they are not quite ready for. They are very popular for a time, very successful, on the front page of magazines, etc. They find that level of fame to be overwhelming, but at the same time feel the need to capitalize on it while they are so hot. All the while the person is feeling isolated and sad. There is a special someone that wants to understand and be there, but the craziness of the situation also pushes love away or makes it impossible to sustain.
