The Crimson Armada – The Final Words (feat. Joey Sturgis) Lyrics 1 year ago
Pretty sure this song is about religion. It's leaning towards Christianity more than anything. The meaning of the song is clear to me: Believing in God more than anything else, but also when the Devil's trying to corrupt you and the demons of this world won't stop corrupting our lives with sin until you side with the Devil. However, put your faith into God, repent and he will forgive you of any sins you've committed in his eyes. Near the end when the person's "contempt" up to his ears, it means he's being tricked into putting faith into the Devil. And the whole world has "surrendered" their faith to God and has put into the Devil. And now the whole world has become some kind of a commemoration to wickedness. Anyway that's what I got from it. Could be totally off

The definition for solidarity (google): unity or agreement of feeling or action, especially among individuals with a common interest; mutual support within a group.
So, that means this song is a upbeat, happy song!

Enter Shikari – OK, Time For Plan B (Re-Recorded) Lyrics 2 years ago
The best thing about their songs on this album is that it has an alien themed story, whether that means they're a metaphor for something else or if it's quite literal. You can always view it from either the aliens PoV or humanity's PoV (there are exceptions on some of their songs of course). But I found out what's really interesting is that all the screaming and clean singing in all of their songs is really (structured?). It's not just some screaming here and then clean singing there (although it kinda IS like that sometimes). So the singing aspects, I feel, also play a part in the story their trying to convey.

Wow now that we got that out of the way let's get interpreting!

Let this battle commence one last time

Let this battle commence one last time

Let this battle commence one last time

(And I hope for your sake, that your on our side)

Let this battle commence one last time

(And I hope for your sake, that your on our side)

_________________________________________

So this, like I have stated before up top, can be either alien/human PoV. And this isn't the first time this 'battle'' has been waged: hence 'One last time'.

(One last time = again) So whomever is declaring the battle has obviously had experience with this before, and they also say, whether this is to the one who is participating in this battle: 'And I hope for your sake, that your on our side'. This means that they hope they will fight for their cause and prove their on the same side.

Look what you've done to yourself

Yeah you've lost the will to do what's right again

Look what you've done to yourself

We were shy

___________________________________________________

This could either be from the aliens or humans PoV. They're saying to the protagonist (whomever the protagonist might be) that, assuming they were on a path to ruining their life, they are disappointed in the life the protagonists were leading, and feel the aliens/humans feel like they had given them second chances and the protagonist squandered them. The A/H/s stood back and let things run their course, either because they were anxious or fearful to step in and stop the chaos that's being caused, or in curiosity just to see what would happen to lead up to this point.

We try to communicate

We've got no patience

Let's reclaim this throne

Why should we negotiate

Let's finish this now!

________________________________________

The A/H/s have warned the ______s of their behavior clear and bluntly, but it seems that they failed with getting the message through. So in a fit of frustration, they were like: "ya know, even though we warned the ________s very boldly about the _________ that's happening (they're causing), they're making it even worse!" and so they decide that warning them once more isn't going to solve anything, so the only option they have that will turn the tables: engaging in combat!

The time has come to think again

To think again

________________________________________

The opposing side is speaking directly to the protagonist, urging them to reconsider the consequences and take their side instead.

OK, time for plan B

This means war!

This means war!

This means war!

This means war!

______________________________________

The A/H/s have finally decided that negotiating didn't help at all, so they switch plans and declare combat upon the opponent. They decide to use Plan B, whatever this Plan B is (destruction, enslavement or some other means of chaos)

Everyone freezes and waits for the earth to move

Everyone freezes and waits for the ground to shake

Let's make the earth move

Let's make the ground shake

Let's make the earth move

Let's make the ground shake

Let's make the earth move

Let's make the ground shake

Let's make the earth move

Let's make the ground shake

Everyone is preparing! Combat is starting!

Pretty self-explanatory what this song's about. It's kinda like a wake-up call to humanity that we're not the only ones who are an intelligible species. Think of this song as a prelude or a precursor to the alien concept they used for 'Take to the Skies'. My interpretation could be totally off though.
(Psst, Hey! Don't forget to listen to their album "Take to the Skies" also. You won't regret it!)

It's cool they added the chorus from their old songs, "Sorry, you're not a Winner" from their album "Take to the Skies". Also the Latin text translates to: 'Change the name of the story'.

Enter Shikari – Sorry You're Not a Winner Lyrics 2 years ago
First, before I get into the interpretation:
THIS SONG WAS A GODDAMN INGENIOUS IDEA!

Okay now for the interpretation.

Scratch card glory
Waist low pleasure

Addiction between gambling and sex. A real thing that's not good to get hooked on.

Black eyes, nose bleed

Okay this has more than just a few meanings so here are the more brief options:
a. loan sharks
b. he's being forced to do this
c. the injuries he already had before his addiction started
d. he could also be a drug addict to.

Don't look back now

Don't think of the past, it ain't worth it now, what matters is what happens next.

My white abode do you remember?

He breaks down and does exactly what he didn't want to do: remember. He had a good life in the past and was it taken away from him due to several reasons like not paying rent, becoming a victim of forced gambling, or not thinking of the consequences of gambling before he chose to do it.

But it's such a thrill just to find out

His addiction just keeps becoming worse and worse, succumbing to the idea that he always has that one chance on winning.

Sorry you're not a winner
With the air so cold and a mind so bitter

Usually, when you scratch off the card, it either reveals "Congrats, you're a winner!" or "Sorry, you're not a winner." This line could either be his mind taunting him or the scratch card. Normally, you would get frustrated with the fact you spent $1 or $5 only to find it wasted. That makes the air around you seem cold and your mind resorts to thinking you'll get a better shot next time. In this case, this song could be viewed as continuing: just like how addiction never goes away, this song is trying to give you that same feeling.

What have you got to loose
But false intentions and a life so pretentious?

He decides that it doesn't matter anyway: he's already in a living hell, why not go a depth further? He's been telling him self he knows he'll win soon, but deep down knows that isn't very likely. I think with the last part of this verse, he's trying to convey that he doesn't think anyone should have a chance to win: it's his scratch cards and his only.

Scratch card glory, waist low pleasure
Black eyes nose bleeds, don't look back now
My white abode, do you remember?
I sweat I ache

Same as the other previous lines, but it is a much slower tempo than usual, trying to hint at that he's giving up on trying to win and/or to emphasize his hesitation and the tension he's having.

What?-What?-What?
Goodbye, Your world, is.

He's confused: how the hell does he keep losing instead of winning? But he finally gets a grip on himself and realizes that he was never bound to win at all anyway.
"Goodbye, Your world is." hints to several different things that:
a. he finally gives up on gambling, trying to move on from the current state he's in for better or worse.
b. he's had only so much he could give, and now he's run out of the means to continue
c. he ran out of time to accomplish what he needed to do in order to get back the things he once loved and adored
d. he fell into a deep depression

(This might also have committed suicide, but it seems like it's leaning toward the other options only.)

Insert your coin
Please try again
Insert your coin
Please try again

Whether you viewed the last part as positive or negative, this line just goes to show that you really can never get away from the past. He'll/another person will keep lying to himself/themselves, coming back for another round just to suffer the same fate.

Goddamn this song just makes you wanna sing your damn heart out!
And, even though the topic's clearly leaning towards losing everything you had nd turning to addiction (of any kind) to cope, it can actually be towards many other issues people deal with like, say, trying to get a job or reaching out for help.

Please if you or anyone you know is going through a sh*t of a life:
please don't gravitate towards addiction and suicide. Please talk to the ones that you care: you're not alone!

"Shit! shit!" - Sh*t's goin' down! (The spirits are screaming because they know something is wrong.)

I've been hiding here for a thousand years, waiting for your ghost
I've been hiding here for a thousand years, waiting for your ghost - My life has been in the sh*thole for some time now and you're the only one that can fix what's
wrong with me.

Your life's about to flash before your eyes
Your life's about to flash before your eyes - You're about to see the answers to all your problems you've been facing.

Stand your ground, this is ancient land
I was guided here by the spirits hand
We shall meet, at hells gate
This is fate this is fate this is fate this is fate - You and me were meant to stand together, even in the face of danger.

Not all is lost the spirits shriek
You will be hunted we shall seek
Perseverance, turn the page
Enter shikari enter shikari - This whole line is introducing the listener to the band!
"Not all is lost" is referring to the listener! They will still have a chance to change the world for better.

We're not hiding we're not hiding
We're not hiding we're not hiding
We're not hiding now we're not hiding now - This could either be said by the band, the spirits, the listener...or both! It means that they realized that they are the ones that need to unite and change society and not afraid to speak out what others might find vulgar or hypocritical.

I'm in the zone
Alright! - This could mean a couple of things: the spirits and the humans have established a connection between each other, or the listener has learned what they need to make their life better, or literally they or just living the good life now (I'm in the zone!).

And still we will be here,
Standing like statues
And still we will be here,
Standing like statues - BIG, BIG line hear. It's a theme that remains constant throughout their albums. It's kinda like a warning, saying: You might have lived a life full of wonders or despair, but don't forget all the other people that may had better or worse than you that you've yet to meet. So no matter how many times you think your at a deadend, someone else is standing by you side through the end!

That's my interpretation of Enter Shikari's self-titled song. You may/ may not agree, but hey: that's the beauty of interpretations. They're right in their own way. They're treading lightly, and are THE BEST, GOAT (Greatest Of All Time), BAND!

I wonder what would happen if they pit Lions, Snakes and Goats together though...

Enter Shikari – No Sssweat Lyrics 2 years ago
"Where's your respect?
Where's your respect?
Why bite the hand that feeds you?"

Why would you stab me in the back after all I've done for you?

"Its not over yet,
Not over yet,
Plenty more fingers for you to nibble,
I'd like to see you get your teeth round this,
I'm sure your jaw will surely be missed."

You use people for your own benefit, but I have seen past you, and you
ain't gonna get to me no more.

"Not even salt can make your hands taste good,
I'm still crunching your lifeline"

A very subjective line: could either be the protagonist or the other person talking here. It could mean: a. this person has played the protagonist too many times that
they can't stand using them (or even seeing them) anymore, though they will still be there in the toughest of times for them.
Or
b. The protagonist has become so disgusted with the other person's actions/attitude, not even salt (which is used on foods to add taste) can redeem this person's bitter life (help guide them in the right direction). Though that doesn't necessarily mean they have given up on them.

"You do this every fucking time,
No sweat
No tears
No guilt
Blood fills your palms"

Again, this could either be one or the other speaking. Either one are
arguing that they have no problem putting a punishment on one or the other, even
if it's severe where blood is spilled (hearts are broken).

"Do this one more time and I'll bite your f*cking fingers off!"

Once more, it can be either one or the other speaking, depending on how you want to interpret it. What's it mean?

"If you pull one more stunt like that, then you're gonna get rekt!"

In short: it can be about trust issues with family/friends, or it could be about something else.

Slipknot – Wait And Bleed Lyrics 3 years ago
Originally, I think this song is about a person diagnosed with schizophrenia and how they can't tell the difference between reality and fiction. I think the first verse is about the way a delusion gets into their head and how they feel. The second stanza is that he's being transported to an insane asylum. But the narrator is screaming at the people he sees (doctors, transporters). They can't tell what is real. This is when he goes on a killing spree (either he actually does or is in his head) In the second to third stanza, it sounds like something or someone is mind-controlling him, experimenting on him - controlling him to kill or brainwashing him from thinking correctly. Maybe it's something more than schizophrenia - it's controlled schizophrenia. Either this person really is suffering from schizo, or he was being controlled from the start of the song.

@[maggot457:26920], You are correct. I think it's pretty humorous to see comment fights about Religion vs Anti-Religion here. Why don't people just state their opinion and that's it? Instead of getting their opinion bashed? You don't have to like this song, just at least try to appreciate it for what it is and what the message is bringing; you don't have to agree with it more or less fuss about it.

All That Remains – Two Weeks Lyrics 3 years ago
Here is my (probably not correct) interpretation:

And you neglected I called you out don't please
I said we're stronger than this now

i: the person refuses to believe the narrator had been trying to reach out to them
ii: the narrator is telling the listener that both of them have apparently overcome what they're struggling with; opposed to the narrator stating to the listener that both of them are acting juvenile; or opposed to the narrator just reassuring the listener that both the L & N are better.

You resurrected mistakes years past it seemed
And they exist to still haunt you

i: the listener (or the character in the story of this song) is bringing up past mistakes (minor or huge mistakes) by the narrator that have been hurting the listener for so long
ii: the mistakes still haunt them

And still you feel like the loneliness
Is better replaced by this
I don't believe it this way

i: the listener is departing from the narrator because they feel like they are more safe from them, or that they're simply disappointed in the narrator, or that they just feel they need to separate from each other for some time, or they passed away but that isn't likely in this case
ii: the narrator objects this person's actions, they feel that it wasn't necessary for this person to separate from the narrator. Especially if those mistakes were minor

And I can see the fear in your eyes
I'm seeing the teary lies
Growing stronger each day

i:the listener is becoming more distant from the narrator and the narrator notices it. The listener is afraid of the narrator and basically is hiding from his/her sight whenever possible

I could see it as you turned to stone
Still clearly I can hear you say

i: it becomes apparent that the listener is avoiding the narrator and the narrator is clearly stating this with emphasis
ii: yet the narrator still looks back to the past and is still struggling with the listener's departure

Don't leave, don't give up on me
Two weeks and you ran away

i: the narrator is restating the words the listener apparently said to the narrator and how they don't want the narrator to isolate them, yet ironically it was the they who left the narrator
ii: it was two weeks since (past or present) the listener (had) recently ran away and isolated themselves

I remember don't lie to me
You couldn't see that it was not that way
Swear I never gave up on you

i: the listener attempts to confuse the narrator why they left with false accusations, but the narrator knows clear as day why the listener left. The listener is telling the narrator they haven't gave up on them.

I wanted nothing but for that trust again
And brick by brick you would take it

i: the narrator just wanted the listener's trust back and the listener would keep denying giving it back.

You feared of phantoms and none exist but you
You still saw fit to destroy it

I; I'm not sure, but it seems like the listener has became delusional and is more terrified than ever that they keep seeing visions of the narrator appear in the corner of their eye or something else that keeps them in insanity. The listener wants to destroy their visions and wipe the narrator from their life.

(Guitar Solo)

I thought the lyrics went like this:

For once my eyes are open for you
And everything is
For once your web of lies is in the open
I gave you everything I had, until I had nothing left
I see with just and I'm just a burden
I've finally let go

Let go, let go

Stay silent at least for now, and let me move on
'Cause I'm so done
Playing these games
With my heart
Been around the world and back for you, and now its time to doze

I've been swallowed by this wreck that you call your life
I'm damaged from the inside
I've been broken
Don't threaten me with what you think I am
If you could read my mind you'd be in tears

I'm sick of your excuse you hold above me
I've finally come to terms with what I am
I'm nothing in your eyes, and this will not change
I'm living in a dream

Stay silent at least for now, and let me move on
'Cause I'm so done
Playing these games
With my heart
Been around the world and back for you, and now its time to choose

They tear out my eyes, and dream of a better time
When I'll be finally past this and be happy on my own
I've done all I can, and still don't wanna be cast aside
All I ever wanted to be was be the one to see him from your eyes
But I guess I'll play second best, a world that will never care about you
Without him I hope you'll understand you're just another pretty face
You'll tell me that you care, and then run straight back to hell
But I can hear your voice of treason from a mile away

You never did know how to whisper

Truth
You're such a liar
Tell me the truth
You're such a liar
Tell me the truth

You're such a liar
Tell me the truth!
You're such a liar
Tell me the truth
Do the world a favor
Stop cutting your arms and slit your throat

I think this song is about two (or a group) of friends that were close but since their viewpoint is different on focusing on one thing they became disconnected w/ each other. Then at one moment one of the friends become so self-centered about their perspective she/he ignore what others are criticizing their lifestyle about. All that person cares about now is to prove his life is everything thus displeasing his/her friends, now s/he's come mostly insane about what he wants he will remove anyone that disagrees with his/her say yet their friends don't know why. Thus: 'go back, take a aim and fire.' (to remove that person from your life)

Well I did my best to interpret the lyrics. Hopefully it's understandable.

So in short, ADTR formed in 2005 (i think) and they released a debut album, they really weren't getting alot of attention back then and in 2007 they released an album called 'homesick' which was a huge success for the band. Then a group of his ex-friends (or just random people) asked them if ADTR could give them a shout-out and they did. Behold, FYS was formed. Things were going well for the two bands until years after FYS stated ADTR was copying their style and ADTR denied aggressively, stating FYS was the one that was infuenced by ADTR. Things went out of hand and FYS started spreading rumors about...well basically how ADTR are a no-talent. Then a rival began the two bands, and therefore the song '2nd Sucks' and 'Paul Revere's Midnight Ride' was composed. I'm not sure if the two bands are still ragging on each other to this day, or maybe that they totally forgot about the whole thing (i doubt it tho)

(MAYBE FYS CAME BEFORE ADTR. IDRK)
