@[HappyMatt:17491] Almost 4 years later, I am here to say that I agree with you. I think they are using the example of the colonization to show us how a "force" persuades society to do certain things in some certainly way. |
Funeral for a Friend – Into Oblivion (Reunion) Lyrics | 7 years ago |
I think this song is about two things: coming back home after getting homesick because of a tour and changing the musical style of the band. |

The Used – A Box Full of Sharp Objects Lyrics | 7 years ago |
"That song, for me, is about drugs and alcohol and loss and love," rambled McCracken. "It's about being proud of who you are, being proud of your situation and just being stoked that things are always going to get better or always gonna get worse and that's such a great thing. Every day is a new surprise." The single was inspired mostly by the singer's drug experiences, which ranged from being arrested for being high and trying to buy alcohol after hours to watching one of his peers destroyed by the substances he himself was so reliant on. "One of my ex-girlfriend's really good friends passed away of a drug overdose, and that was kind of crazy at the time 'cause we were all out of our minds." Lots of hedonistic rockers get hooked on drugs after they join a touring rock band, but the camaraderie of being in the Used has had a calming effect on McCracken. "For a long time I was really off the deep end using needles," he said. "But all these guys are clean and sober and they're good guys, and they've helped me out a lot. ... I don't think it would have worked out if it hadn't been these guys." |
Three Days Grace – Burn Lyrics | 7 years ago |
It's about someone who is in conflict with other, maybe family or a friend. Possibly a drug addict (I'm not always flying) and is trying to prove someone wrong. Don't want to be seen burning, but want to watch the other burn. |

Bush – Glycerine Lyrics | 7 years ago |
I think it's about an unrequited love, a complicated relationship with a lot of fear, a wheel. One day they are up there, like strawberry fields (great reference to Beatles' song), they are not alone and everything is gone white. And in the next day they are down, everything is gray, they are mistreating and bruising each other and they are alone, by themselves (specially who sings). |

@[pumpkingirl:15114] nitroglycerine is different from glycerine =) glycerine is highly used in medications and FOOD. |
HIM – When Love And Death Embrace Lyrics | 7 years ago |
I guess he is in love with a person and he is mourning someone's death, but I don't know if they are the same person. Eitherway it is a really sad song. |
HIM – It's All Tears (Unplugged radio live) Lyrics | 7 years ago |
Two people are waiting for the other to start a relation. Tells about a pessimist vision of what love is: heart breaking, hopeless and vicious. |

Funeral for a Friend – 10:45 Amsterdam Conversation Lyrics | 7 years ago |
It's a song about a sad phone call. Yes, it can be a break up, but it could be a warning about someone's death too. It fits. Line by line (except for the last two lines) Water broken voice, saturates a microphone (The person who receives the phone call is crying) Into a receiver with no tongue (and this same person is speechless because of the tears) Offering, little to what it knows (and talks too little) Then a silence so heavy, broken hearts fall from throats (both are brokenhearted) When heaven is remembered but never seen (Memories of something -the relationship that is over- or someone -who died- that can't be seen again) Through hearts shaped like kaleidoscopes (memories from the heart like images from a kaleidoscope) Eternally, the sun has set to mourning (The sun is mourning - someone's death or a brekup) And contoured are the backgrounds On the canvas to which our lives are painted |
