| I believe the song is about him remembering being in a relationship that he knew wasn't good for him and even though it was hard to cut her off,he ended it. Then in the second verse,he's remembering how he even had tried to save the relationship at times but it was never getting better. But,as I gather from the chorus,he's continuing to fool around with her because he's as miserable without her as he was with her.So he's saying he's not gonna be hard on himself for still having dealings with her cuz he'll be just as unhappy if he wasn't.Basically,he'd rather be miserable with someone than be miserable alone. | |
