I agree with the previous thoughts. We don't think new things. Even things we like or create come from or are at least derived external sources. Music melodies, movie plots, even mankind itself passes copies of genes to their kids. Really intriguing concept actually. The only thing is, we build on top of old concepts. Copies degrade with time but evolution is developing a more resistant race. |

Wow! This is exactly what I felt after listening to this and the preceding song. A guy goes crazy, kills a bunch of people but then... This. It was a few days ago I was listening to this song and I realized my life does have meaning. And I vowed never to take my own life because I should value it as I value all the people around me. This song changed my life. |

I love how this song reminds me of where my heart is at, while also reminding me of the sometimes selfish instinctual drive to survive, both given to us by nature itself. Somehow you have to balance the two in order to be happy. Too much heart and you can run out of money. Too much money and you can run out of heart. Hope that makes sense. Very meaningful song to me. It's really impacted the way I view life. |

I'm surprised nobody has brought up religion. This whole album feels like a chant against unhealthy religion to me. This song in particular is called "Sanctified", a word I'm not sure I've even heard outside of church. Anyway, this song reminds me of the way I felt when I was deep in a cultish church. The girl could be a personification of the demands of unhealthy religion. They demand that you give your whole life for "her" and control everything you do. But, with the promise of heaven, you'll do anything for "her" and you're "justified". Anyway, just my two cents. |
