This is not about a physically abusive relationship. It hurts worse than an actually open hand or closed fist slap. They would both feel better than being toyed with. With this said just the little time he gets with her is worth the pain. "Like sleep to the freezing" = when someone is freezing to death they fall asleep and don't feel the pain anymore. He has now accepted that the only way to be with her is to be her second choice and have little time with her. It's still worth it but it's killing him. |
