The first song I heard after finding out my friend had killed himself. A very powerful song. RIP Shandy. |

Faithless – Bring My Family Back Lyrics

A very poignant song, brilliantly told through 3 differing viewpoints. The real genius of the song is the 3rd view being the house. |

Bruce Springsteen – Stolen Car Lyrics

To me the song is about a guy who has it all. Beautiful wife, family etc, and yet cant escape the feeling of being totally alone in the world. No one is coming to rescue him from his loneliness, every night he waits, but they never come. |

Bruce Springsteen – Point Blank Lyrics

I've always found this one of his most brutal, and yet most beautiful songs. The girl has made her choice down on the avenue, but there is still a love between the two protagonists. |

Elbow – My Sad Captains Lyrics

Only Elbow could refer to skanky little sods running round on bikes as a bmx apothecry, whilst quoting William Penn in the next breath. A really, really lovely little song, which puts life into a certain perspective. |

David Gray – Say Hello Wave Goodbye Lyrics

Love the original Soft Cell version, but I think that David Gray offers a little to the song. Just mellows it out a touch, and the little extras at the end are nice. |

When the intro finishes and the song begins in this is really one of the best drops ive ever heard. Purely magical. Can not hear this song enough! |

Bruce Springsteen – Atlantic City Lyrics

One of the best songs ever written with a refference to the demise of Phil the chicken man Testa. The rest of the song is pretty damn good too |

The world is a little bit of a sadder place without Michael Hutchence in it. How could this song not make you smile! |

Suede – By The Sea Lyrics

I guess I have always thought of the song as being about two people heavilly into drugs leaving their old life. Possibly voluntarily, possibly not, saying there goodbyes to the bank and moving to the seaside for possibly a better life |
