For some reason today, I suddenly had the lyrics of Brick running through my head, and wanted to download it, because I hadn't heard it in ages. I came here to read the lyrics during the download (darned dial-up...SO SLOW). I understood what the song was about, but it's always great to read other people's opinions and stories. I've liked this song since it first came out, but when it played today from my playlist, it seemed to make more sense...I've been seeing this guy lately, and it seems we have the same problem as she does. I love this song because it's so perverted. I don't really think it's about these women wanting sex with younger guys, but rather them wanting a 'relationship' without the complications that come with normal relationships with other adults (maybe even sex ?).
At any rate, you've got to love a song with the line :

I agree with Kaekura, when she said this song is an eye-opener. Unfortunately, too few of the people that WOULD listen to this song will see it for what it is. The story in this song is played out every day. Psycho (ex) husbands and boyfriends (and probably g/fs and wives too) actually DO do this kind of crazy shit.
At least Eminem used music as his way of 'acting out' his fantasy of dealing with his ex, I wish I could say the same about everyone else !! |

This song is one of those that gets into you're bloody head and won't LEAVE. So I just had to d/l and play it. I noticed, though, that there is a missing verse in the version I have, between Koala and Platypus. I think it's like this (not sure what an Abo is ? IF it's spelled right, thats how it sounds !):

Well I don't think he LOVE loves both of them. On one hand he has the faithful trusting girlfriend. I'm sure he loved her at some point, but I think he's started to feel it's just not the Fireworks kind of love anymore. So there's the OTHER girl, he's been seeing her, and has probably fallen in love with her, but he realizes that his girlfriend has always been there for him, and is a good person, and she doesn't deserve to be cheated on, so he makes the decision to stop cheating on her, and leave the new girl even though he loves her. |

I feel really lame. I downloaded a song ( I have no idea by now what I was TRYING to get ) and I ended up getting this song. You know how some people trick you into downloading something by naming it something else ? Well the name of this song was "Rare and Unreleased, sung by BSB, Britney, 5ive N*SYNC and MORE" and the description says "Linkin Park." Still, I played the song, and it wasn't bad, so I looked here for the lyrics, only to find it was sung by HANSON ?! I feel like a total dork now. |

This song makes me feel incredibly happy that I'm done with secondary education. If it had ever occured to me that I might DIE at school, I would have been a high-school droupout before I'd leave the house for such a place. In addition to that, I see these girls every day dressed like they are.....well, sluts, to be honest. There's nothing wrong with that, I suppose, but they problem is they aren't just dressing the part. There is so much pressure on teens and even younger kids to BE a certain way. If you aren't THAT way, you are shunned. And that's where this song comes into play...the outcasts, and the way they deal with it. It's sick and sad....but worst of all, it's true. |

I don't think this song is about a "former" relationship. I thought it was more about one of two things. 1) The literal: When you are on vacation, it's perfect, life, the relationship, and once you go back home, it's not the same. Relationships are full of imperfections, and we live with it, but having that week or two of heaven makes you want perfection despite the impossiblity of it. And my other thought: 2) The "honeymoon" of a relationship, where you both act perfect, wanting to be the perfect partner. Then you move on and you act obnoxious, leave your crap everywhere in the apartment, and your partner has to come home to that, and is like WHAT HAPPENED here ?? Hmm... Just a thought. |
