Taylor Swift – All Too Well (10 Minute Version) Lyrics | 2 years ago |
I walked through the door with you, the air was cold But something 'bout it felt like home somehow and I Left my scarf there at your sister's house And you still got it in your drawer even now Oh, your sweet disposition and my wide-eyed gaze We're singing in the car, getting lost upstate Autumn leaves falling down like pieces into place And I can picture it after all these days And I know it's long gone and That magic's not here no more And I might be okay But I'm not fine at all Oh, oh, oh 'Cause there we are again on that little town street You almost ran the red 'cause you were looking over at me Wind in my hair, I was there, I remember it all too well Photo album on the counter, your cheeks were turning red You used to be a little kid with glasses in a twin-sized bed And your mother's telling stories 'bout you on the tee ball team You tell me 'bout your past, thinking your future was me And you were tossing me the car keys, "Fuck the patriarchy" keychain on the ground, we were always skipping town And I was thinking on the drive down Any time now, he's gonna ay "It's love", you never called it what it was 'Til we were dead and gone and buried Check the pulse and come back swearing it's the same, After three months in the grave And then you wondered where it went to, As I reached for you but all I felt was shame And you held my lifeless frame And I know it's long gone and There was nothing else I could do And I forget about you long enough To forget why I needed to 'Cause there we are again in the middle of the night We're dancing 'round the kitchen in the refrigerator light Down the stairs, I was there, I remember it all too well And there we are again when nobody had to know You kept me like a secret but I kept you like an oath Sacred prayer and we'd swear to remember it all too well Well maybe we got lost in translation, maybe I asked for too much But maybe this thing was a masterpiece 'til you tore it all up Running scared, I was there, I remember it all too well And, you call me up again just to break me like a promise So casually cruel in the name of being honest I'm a crumpled up piece of paper lying here 'Cause I remember it all, all, all They say all's well that end's well But I'm in a new hell every time you double cross my mind You said if we had been closer in ages, maybe it would have been fine And that made me want to die The idea you had of me, who was she? An ever needy, ever lovely jewel whose shine reflects on you Not weeping in a party bathroom, some actress asking me what happened You, that's what happened, you You who charmed my dad with self-effacing jokes Sipping coffee like you're on a late night show But then he watched me watch the front door all night, willing you to come And he said, "It's supposed to be fun turning twenty-one" Time won't fly, it's like I'm paralyzed by it I'd like to be my old self again, but I'm still trying to find it After plaid shirt days and nights when you made me your own Now you mail back my things and I walk home alone But you keep my old scarf from that very first week 'Cause it reminds you of innocence and it smells like me You can't get rid of it, 'cause you remember it all too well, yeah 'Cause there we are again, when I loved you so Back before you lost the one real thing you've ever known It was rare, I was there, I remember it all too well Wind in my hair, you were there, you remember it all Down the stairs, you were there, you remember it all It was rare, I was there, I remember it all too well And I was never good at telling jokes, But the punchline goes "I'll get older but your lovers stay my age" From when your Brooklyn broke my skin and bones I'm a soldier who's returning half her weight And did the twin flame bruise paint you blue? Just between us, did the love affair main you too? 'Cause in this city's barren cold, I still remember the first fall of snow And how it glistened as it fell I remember it all too well Just between us, did the love affair maim you all too well? Just between us, do you remember it all too well? Just between us, I remember it (Just between us) all too well Wind in my hair, I was there, I was there Down the stairs, I was there, I was there Sacred prayer, I was there, I was there It was rare, you remember it (All too well) Wind in my hair, I was there, I was there Down the stairs, I was there, I was there Sacred prayer, I was there, I was there It was rare, you remember it (All too well) Wind in my hair, I was there, I was there Down the stairs, I was there, I was there Sacred prayer, I was there, I was there It was rare, you remember it (All too well) Wind in my hair, I was there, I was there Down the stairs, I was there, I was there Sacred prayer, I was there, I was there It was rare, you remember it (All too well) |
One Direction – History Lyrics | 8 years ago |
I honestly love this song, I think it's one of their best yet. The song is pretty much self-explanatory but 'History' is a song that is very personal to the boys and to their fans, as it talks about the past 5 years as a band and being with their fans every step of the way. With their impending hiatus coming up next year (2016), I feel like this song was written for the fans as a way of saying that even though it may seem like the end, it's really not and they will be back. Louis promised us they would be back and 'History' feels like a promise from all of the boys :) They're asking the fans to not give up or let go while they're on their break and just wait for them to come back and make lots of new memories! |
Little Mix – Turn Your Face Lyrics | 9 years ago |
I think this song is about an emotionally damaging on-off relationship, and the girl is finally making the decision to end the relationship, therefore asking him to "turn your face and walk away". It seems to me that it is hard for the girl to break up with the guy as she says "turn your face, walk away and stay". Seems like she is a bit confused about what she wants, hence the reason why she keeps taking him back even though she knows that he'll just bring "a thousand cracks" The line where they sing "In my memory, I was hurting, long before we met" says to me that she was broken and damaged from a previous relationship and she just wants to love and trust the guy she is with now, but knows that she can't and they can't be together. This girl and guy break up and she lets him back into her life again and again, because she wants to believe that he has changed, even though she knows that he hasn't. I think this time she is telling him to leave and walk away, because she knows that their relationship just won't work. Sorry if I'm wrong, just my opinion ... |
The Saturdays – You Don't Have the Right Lyrics | 10 years ago |
I think this song is about a girl who has been hurt in her previous relationship, and now the guy wants to come back into her life. "You tell me you're missing me and that you can't wait to see me again You tell me you don't know why you and I can't go on being friends You say you still think of the two of us and that you still wanna stay in touch But I still remember All the hell you put me through, all the tears cried over you You can't keep coming back It's not fair" The boy has realised what he is missing without her, and now wants her back in his life. But she can't just forget everything that happened and how much he hurt her. She can't forget and let him back in. The chorus pretty much explains that after everything he has done, he doesn't have the right to come back into her life like nothing happened. She can't just forgive and forget, and he can't expect her to. "I don't wanna hear from you, or hear what's been going on in your life I don't want you coming round, coming here messing with my mind I finally got my heart to start to heal, why can't you just stay away from me Cause I still remember All the hell you put me through Now what am I supposed to do Just say that it's ok It's not fair" She is begging the guy to stay away from her and she is fine without him and moved on completely, but she knows that if she sees him, all her feelings for him will begin to resurface again. The line "Now what am I supposed to do, just say that it's ok?" means that he can't expect her to just except his apology and forgive him so easily. |
The Saturdays – Wish I Didn't Know Lyrics | 10 years ago |
I think this song is about a girl finding out her boyfriend is cheating on her. This is evident from the chorus and the first verse after the chorus. "Seeing the laughter in your eyes Seeing the smile I thought was mine Watching you kiss her lips goodbye Things I wish I didn't know If I could wipe this memory, Go back to when that girl was me, The day that I should have stayed at home And I wish I didn't know I'm lying here beside you trying to block it out my mind Just knowing that she touched you kills a little more inside, ohh I don't wanna confront you 'cause you're only gonna lie, ooh But what's a girl to do, just sit around and watch love die?" She has seen her boyfriend with another girl, and it has hurt her. She knows that if she confronts him and asks him about what she saw, he will just lie and deny everything, but at the same time she wants to ask him because she needs an answer to explain what she saw. "I've been busy denying, but my heart still needs to know" She is saying that she has denied everything she saw, and saying it wasn't what she originally thought but now she needs to know the truth. |
The Saturdays – Leave a Light On Lyrics | 10 years ago |
I think this song is about being in a long distance relationship, where one person is always away from home for long periods of time. She is asking the boy to 'leave a light on' for her and to not give up on their love as she will always come back home to him. Song could be a message to their partners, as the girls are away from quite a bit, so they are reassuring their lovers that they are coming home. |
The Saturdays – Last Call Lyrics | 10 years ago |
I think this song is about a girl who keeps going back to the guy that she has left. Everytime something bad happens, she runs back to him and she can't let go of him completely. "The sun goes down And that's the time that It hurts so bad I feel the weight of the love we had" I think this verse means that when the night comes, and she is in bed alone, she realises what and who she's lost. "I can't move on Without you and I've lost myself You're like a habit that I can't help" She has been with this guy for so long that she doesn't see how she will live and move on without him. Without him, she doesn't know who she really is and she can't seem to find herself. The line "You're like a habit that I can't help" could mean that running back to him is something she does quite a lot, but she can't help it as it just seems like the natural thing to do. "No I can't hide From this feeling Don't you know" She can't hide the fact that she is still in love with him after all this time. "I would wait for you I would wait all night Just the thought of you Before I close my eyes It's too late I can't take anymore" I think this first part of the chorus means that she would do anything for him. She would wait forever for him. "And I can't let it go And I can't forget All that I'm left holding is my regret And it feels like we could've had it all You're still my last call" I think the second part of the chorus means that she can't forget everything they have been through. She feels regret knowing that they'll never be together again and knowing what they could've had if she had stayed and tried to make it work. "We don't change We still talk every single day Even though there's nothing much left to say" This shows that even though they've broken up and aren't together anymore, they just want to hear each other's voice even though there's nothing left to talk about anymore. "I have tried All that I can but I can't break free There's no denying you're a part of me That I can't throw away" She has tried to let him go, and break free from everything making her stay, but as much as she tries she knows she can't do it. He is and always will be a part of her, much like anyone's first love. "The last thing I do The last thing I say The last thing I do Is hear your voice Say "I love you" I think this last verse part of the song means that everyday, the last thing she thinks of is him telling her that he loves her. She can't get these words out of her head, and they now haunt her. |
The Saturdays – Bigger Lyrics | 10 years ago |
I think this song is about overcoming obstacles that get in the way of dreams and life, and saying that it doesn't matter what is thrown at us because we're bigger than all of that. |
The Saturdays – Fall Lyrics | 10 years ago |
In my opinion, this song is about somebody who gave her all in her past relationship and did everything her partner asked of her because she genuinely thought that he loved her. The line "But I know I am done, I've had enough" could mean that she has had enough of the way he has been treating her and she is getting out of the relationship. "When you hit the ground, You'll be sorry that I'm not around" means that now she has left him, he will realise how good she really was and what she meant to him. But she won't be there to pick up the pieces this time, he has to face up to what he has done and where he went wrong. "I don't know how to act or what to say But I know I am good, I'll be okay" This part could mean that he has taken all of her confidence but she knows that without him, she'll be fine and move on to something better. |
The Saturdays – Died In Your Eyes Lyrics | 10 years ago |
I think this song is truly beautiful! In my opinion, I think this song is about two people in a relationship who just don't love each other anymore, but stay together to try and make their relationship work. "Before I start crying, crying, Give me a reason for trying, trying" - The girl wants to keep trying and make the relationship work, but she doesn't know what else to do and what is left to hold on to. "From the window I've been looking through, I have seen the end of me and you. Oh, oh. And it's not about who's right or wrong. When you wake up in the morning I'll be gone." I think this verse means that went she looks into the future, she knows they won't be together anymore and she predicted the end right from the start. The line 'It's not about who's right or wrong', could mean that this isn't just another silly argument, it's more serious this time, you can't just pin the blame on each other like before. This time, she is leaving for good and not coming back. |
The Saturdays – I Can't Wait Lyrics | 10 years ago |
I love this song so much :) I think this song is about being in a bad relationship, where she has been hurt and let down so many times. She is still in love with the guy, but is leaving him (even though it will break her heart) because she can't be with him and wait for him to change. I think the line "I used to love you through rose-tinted eyes, I finally see through cracks in your disguise" means that the girl thought that he was good for her and wanted to believe that, but now she has seen who he really is. She can't pretend she doesn't know anymore. "Came so near, We were almost right" maybe means that the relationship was nearly how it should have been in the beginning, but she realised it was all just make believe and nothing had really changed, so she decides to leave. |
The Saturdays – Here Standing Lyrics | 10 years ago |
This is one of my favourite songs by The Saturdays :) I see this song as a thank you to the fans for getting them to where they are today. I love the last verse in particular, "Standing up for what I believe The reason I'm here Being the best that you helped me be I promise that I will not let you down After all You're the reason that I'm here standing" I think this is a promise to the fans and everyone that helped them get this far, that they're gonna work really hard and never let them down. These people bring out the best in the girls, and have helped them to become who they are today. |
The Saturdays – Vulnerable Lyrics | 10 years ago |
I think this song is about a girl who has been hurt before in a previous relationship, and she's fallen in love again but is afraid of letting her guard down in fear of getting hurt again and she is now 'vulnerable'. In the line 'Your arms are my protection now, please take care of what you've found', I think she's begging him to protect her, and not hurt her like others before. She wants to believe he will be there for her and shelter her. "I know you're not him, for all that it's worth And I'm trying to love like I've never been hurt But sometimes I know that I push you away 'Cause underneath I'm still afraid" To me, this last verse has the most meaning and emotion. I think this verse means that she is afraid of falling deeper in love with this man because she's scared he will hurt her like her last boyfriend did. She wants to believe that he is different, but she is still hurt and afraid inside and still puts walls up to stop him from getting in. |
