Jason Derulo – The Other Side Lyrics 8 years ago
This to me sounds like a friend falling for a friend song. He's saying they're crossing the line and getting all the way out of the friend zone. They're nervous, but they're giving it all they have.

Tyler Carter – Georgia Lyrics 8 years ago
It sounds like the guy was trying to cope with losing his girl with prescription drugs (which is why he lost her). He wants her back, but he can't cope.

Issues – Hooligans Lyrics 8 years ago
It's just about kids being kids. We mean well, but we're young and just some kids. It's about living it up while your young, and not changing just to grow up.

Issues – Mad At Myself Lyrics 8 years ago
This song seems like it's about a guy giving into this girl whom he knew was trouble, but wanted anyway then regretting it.

Issues – Life of a Nine Lyrics 8 years ago
To me at sounds like the song is talking about an average girl seeking affection, but she ends up becoming a prostitute or just a sex addict. She tries to be innocent around people, but only he (Tyler) can see through it through experience. She wants fame and youth, but she lost it by becoming who she is.

Story of the Year – Your Unsung Friend Lyrics 9 years ago
This is an amazing song but I was never sure what it meant. It sounds like he was talking about cutting when he said,"the blade is cold and it takes it's hold on the wrist again" which leads me to think he ants relief but he doesn't want to end his life. Like he was caught by a friend and he is trying to say he wasn't going to kill himself just cut. It's seems to have a dark tone in general, but this is only my interpretation.

Story of the Year – sleep Lyrics 9 years ago
I've always loved this song and I agree. It's most likely about wanting just to get away from the stress of everyday life and just driving away with someone you care about. Honestly knowing Dan Marsala and the rest of SOTY it could mean virtually anything.

Story of the Year – Until The Day I Die Lyrics 10 years ago
Although it is another love song it's a really unique one at that. It shows the balance of love and hate in a relationship without saying the word love even once. I'm impressed. Great song.

Story of the Year – Just Close Your Eyes Lyrics 10 years ago
I always thought that the song meant this:
There are so many people trying to force you to see what they see and be someone your not in this world. It's saying if you close your eyes you see what you want to see and who you are. The song tells of the realization of someone who was a pawn but took controll of his/her life. It's a deep song with a great meaning and riff. Utmost respect to SOTY and Jim Johnson.

Story of the Year – Holding on to you Lyrics 10 years ago
I always thought this song was about a guy who lost his lover by being on the road so much, and she thought he'd lost passion behind his words. So he is dying to tell her every word he said was still true and that he means what he says. I take it as a sort of apology pleading regret song.

Story of the Year – I'm Alive Lyrics 10 years ago
This is one of my favorite songs. I know what the actual meaning is but I always thought it was about giving up on life. Idk why it just seemed like a darker tone almost sounded suicidal. "I'm alive but I'm barely breathing now. So drag my lungs into the ground. Lay me down." It sounded to me like he was saying I'm still here but it's not getting better so just kill me already. Either way it's great song.

Story of the Year – Welcome To Our New War Lyrics 10 years ago
This song touches on such a broad yet serious topic. The gist is political obviously. "The rich sell their lies to the poor" this makes it rather straight forward. I love this song personally and it's one of the bests off the black swan. Deep song, hard riff.

Story of the Year – Ten Years Down Lyrics 10 years ago
I honestly did not realize what this song was about until I read a Dan Marsala interview.
The song divulges into life after his ten years at catholic school. He's said he doesn't like religion and he's not catholic but he was talking about how that's a good "ten years down".
