Manana – Miss Evening Lyrics 8 years ago
I think this song could be a metaphor of how relationships between people can represent something which we cannot reprimand or ignore. It seems that the speaker has shared intense memories and emotions with their significant other, which they refer to as the "sun" because they can never forget the other person's significant presence or control its movement. The speaker wishes that the other person could change, perhaps they could get back together again, but the speaker knows that "they won't change", so the speaker is eternally haunted by the beauty of their past times. Each day when the sun rises, the speaker wakes up and repeats the cycle in which he wishes that somehow he could see his significant other, that they could "change", but with each sunset, this wish becomes obsolete. The repetition of "let it come to an end" at the end of the song suggests that the speaker has been locked inside a world in which the future has no meaning for them, and they must eternally be reminded of their significant other, with each day passing becoming more painful.

Travis – The Humpty Dumpty Love Song Lyrics 9 years ago
This is a beautiful song. It perfectly describes the duality of love and the ephemeral nature of our human relationships.

This song almost made me feel empty, like that feeling you can get after reading a long book and finding that some of the pages are missing so you miss part of the story. That's what this song is about. Our "premonition" in life is to be loved and love someone else, no matter how much we may run from this simple fact of human nature.

This is such a bittersweet song. The reason why I like it so much is that the lyrics are the truth; we often spend days upon days building relationships with great people only to see the inevitable transience of our future plans with our this person. We don't often know how our relationships will end up a few years down the road, but we continue to push along and pour our faith and heart into an individual who may leave us hanging. Not all relationships end up like this, but the aftermath of those relationships are what hurts the most, trying to get this person to know how much you care about them, like trying to catch the wind in a net...

The Verve – Bittersweet Symphony Lyrics 9 years ago
Thank you for inspiring me to write my college entrance essays in which I wrote about my lifelong struggle to find out who I really was in a world which a dual-life is inevitable. In fact, the college that I sent it to liked it so much, I was awarded a scholarship money to pay for housing and tuition! This post makes has helped me move along a thin boundary of life in which we endlessly oscilliate between a life of regret and satisfaction.

Travis – Love Will Come Through Lyrics 10 years ago
This song epitomizes why music has had such a powerful influence on society throughout our existence. I believe that Fran's lyrics essentially articulate our lifelong journey to find and grasp true happiness. The repetition of "Take me, don't leave me" illustrates a man's desperate attempt to hold onto the love that sustains his ability to understand that he "can't live alone". Moreover, these lines remind me of John Krakauer's lovesick protagonist Chris McCandless, who realized in death that "Happiness is only real when shared". As we mature and grow throughout life, the spiritual and metaphysical gifts coherently sprout from the seedling of love. This song is very spiritually influential as well, such as the phrase "The sound of the wings, the flight, of a dove, take it away, don't look down the mountain", perhaps suggesting that the discovery of love is one so euphoric that it can be compared to the sensation Moses felt when he was atop Mount Sinai. More than anything, this song symbolizes the omnipresent gift of hope, and how it has the ability to save us no matter the dire circumstances or pain. When things look bleak, "Just look up, Don't look down", because life is on this planet is "always turning", creating chances for us that we never knew existed or were previously possible. If there is anyone who is reading this that has ever struggled to find true love or feels alienated, just know that listening to this song has helped me tremendously through times of pain and heartache. When you are confused at the "crossroads of high roads and low roads" in life, always know that "Love will come through".
