Calling humanity megalomaniacs...why?
I always took this more literally ... as somebody from muse talking about life from a general and biological perspective. Has relationship with a girl who can't have babies or absolutely doesn't want them. Paradise, utopia and the like are absurd notions personally and collectively. Making the best of things you are aware of and preferable action prevail. In the end the women and he just do the carnal thing to no ends. The means justify the means. There is preferable means but no ends to human endeavor...always thought that they were trying to say life in general or species need to be megalomaniacs to justify their means. Just like religions tell us we have divinely ordained dominion over the earth. Often people with exceptional skill/power in something carry this notion with indemnity. |

Gud song. People who've downput this probably don't like it not confering with their Bsystems or outlook on life or hate drugs in music. I don’t really like the "I think I'm first, but probably finish last." I think that might grind people. However I interpret this part as they way we all put ourselves first by nature (the exception is family (ext of the self) or close friends). Finished last fits in with his MO. If you don't embed identity of yourself subject to culture status than your 'status position' is irrelevant (and social in this case too). |
