John Fogerty – Deja Vu (All Over Again) Lyrics

The only difference between the Vietnam War and Iraq was the draft. If we would have had the draft during Iraq, college campus across the country would have been burning. Funny how quite that generation was when someone else is dying. Its a back door draft. Take away the jobs and the poor have to join. If we are going to be in a constant state of war ( which seems to be the way we are heading ), make everyone sacrifice. Not just the poor That will end wars a lot faster |

Its an anti gun song pure and simple. just as is Guns, Guns, Guns. how clear do the songs have too be. by the way the hippie dippie times ( not my words ) were a different time. a time when people cared about each other. a time when the 2 most popular words were not I and Me. |

You are very close donutbandit. He wrote this in a hotel in downtown indianapolis. It was the morning after a concert. He received bad reviews, which led him to think about his life. what he was doing with it, his helplessness to control things. sorry for his depression, but led to his best song except maybe stand tall |

Its his view on socialism. what the world would be like without the greed of capitalism. without imperialism. Remember they are Canadian. At the time ( and even now ) Canada is/was much more enlightend on social issues then we are. I hope Burton still believes this, as it is as relavent today as it wasb then. |

I always pictured this song directed at Ted Kennedy. especially the line you talk of human justice while you drive on fancy wheels. |
