| To me, this song is about a cold person who is untouchable at the core. No matter how beautiful she may be to someone else, she is not able to accept and return love. She is only to be seen, not to be held, and she views those who love her with contempt. She sees their caring for her as desire to fill themselves with her light, but they will always be "in the dark." If it is about the Illuminati, I think she is saying that she is "enlightened" and the rest of us only exist to be her audience. We'll eat up the show, but it will never bring us any closer to her particular variety of enlightenment. I think it's an immensely sad song with no element of hope to it, either for the singer or the person it is sung for. | |
