i saw an interview about this song. this is way of saying he knows that the fans enjoy the other albums better and hes trying to regain their love after not having the same support for the last album. the entire first stanza is describing the cover of fortress. |

that is soooooooooooooooooo off base first of all dez voted obama second in the dvd for this he talks about smoking weed at one moment while watching people surf third it also states that it has to do with the gunslinger if you ever read the book it'd make sense to you that the gunslinger always leaves everything behind in his ques at one point he let a child who he loves like a son fall to his death "left the dead behind watch them falling" also the ending of the book implies that unless the protagonist learns to forgive and value is loved ones more than his quest he will never find salvation or redemption |
