Madonna – In This Life Lyrics 11 years ago
may you learn your lesson and never have any of your loved ones or even yourself acquire this disease, life and God have very ironic ways to make you eat your own words.

Madonna – Cherish Lyrics 11 years ago
This song is clearly about the love she still had for her first ex-husband Sean Penn. I always find it fascinating how people call her "cold & calculated" because of her great work ethic. but she poured her heart out in many her albums Like A Prayer being perhaps the most intimate, she talks about her Take On Religion (Like A Prayer) Women's Freedom (Express Yourself) Love Gone Sour (Til Death Do us Part, Love Song) her Mother's Death (Promise to Try), The Abandonment she felt by her Father and her own Self-Harming ways (Oh Father) The Hope and the Love that is still Alive even after break-ups (Cherish) Nostalgia about her own lost Childhood (mostly due to her mother's death) (Dear Jessie) her Love/Hate relationship with her Family (Keep It together) and losing People to Aids (Spanish Eyes) People who call Madonna "cold & calculated" just have NO clue.

LOL you and every guy/girl who thinks that is the type of person who likes to see things that are not there. the song is straightfoward, she just want to have sex with the guy and not commit, of course those of you who likes to believe you heard a "maybe" when in reality you heard is a a BIG NO. tells a lot about your personality and how you are.

Tori Amos – Flavor Lyrics 11 years ago
you're so far off I think, I think this song is about questioning things we've been told for thousands of years that's the way it is and there's no room to question (religion's dogma is a perfect example) a classic Amos at her best questioning things and saying "no wait a minute I see things different"

Tori Amos – Playboy Mommy Lyrics 11 years ago
this about Tori feeling angry that her unborn child didn't choose to stay longer in Tori's life. "Playboy Mommy" cause Tori wasn't exactly one of those conventional squeaky clean virgin to marriage christian mothers. so she made a "girl" (as tori called songs in the "choirgirl hotel") that felt angry as if she was protesting why wasn't she good enough, and the rest is tori making a story from her own feelings of emptiness and sorrow. beautiful because in reality nobody deserves a child more than the next person. the "moral"married woman's miscarriage sorrow isn't any less painful, valid or moving than a "Playboy Mommy" s sorrow we all suffer the same when it comes to losing the most precious thing we ever had. I reckon is gotta be the worst pain for a woman/parent to experience. as it was is said in a movie about the trojan war when the king of troy tells Achilles who murdered his son while pleading for his son's body for burial "A Parent was not meant to see his/her children die"

Radiohead – Creep Lyrics 11 years ago
To anyone who says this song is overrated, or that it irritates them because the song helps them "champion" their flaws I think they are flat out wrong. the song clearly states that the protagonist is not happy with his/her situation and wishes to change at any cost, furthermore the "anger" towards this song shows how much some people like to be in denial that they all have "perfect" and "happy" lives and god forbid someone wishes to speak about the dark side of things, because people freak out and start lashing out because it shows that they themselves are threatened by someone else speaking out on the very things they have tried to suppress in their own lives. WAKE UP bitches you're not cinderella and the world is not a disney movie.

Radiohead – Creep Lyrics 11 years ago
you miss the whole meaning of the song, it's not about glorifying their flaws and poor choices, it's about feeling vulnerable. something that obviously makes you very uncomfortable, because of your own issues with your vulnerability. you're NOT a god, you're a mere weakling human who will be (or mostly likely has been already) rejected

Sandra – Maria Magdalena Lyrics 11 years ago
while I do agree with the whole, her being a prostitute in the song and that she will never change, it is worth to say that the scriptures of the bible had been manipulated and mistranslated (big surprise the church is a very shady organization seeking control, not salvation of the human race) Mary Magdalene was never a prostitute. she was a woman who dared to speak the word of god (something that was at the time only reserved for men) and so she was considered a sinful women, of course the church went ahead and said she was a prostitute but in reality there's no evidence that Mary Magdalene was a prostitute at all.

Tori Amos – Jackie's Strength Lyrics 11 years ago
in Tori's case is about Marrying, she thought it might never happen, given the trauma that she had experienced (being raped, and also bitter break-ups with "men" or boys as she likes to refer to them in "Raspberry Swirl") in general this song is about things not always going the way you plan it: be it Marriage/Relationships, Career, Living. the video makes a great imagery of the song you see extra-marital affairs, unwanted pregnancies, people taking medications to stay alive, being pushed on a wheelchair (nobody really looks up to those things) the song is among tori's best. the way she juxtaposes the soft beautiful melodies and the crude things about life "black magic (dark negative feelings), anorexia, betrayal (make me laugh say you know what you want you said we were the real thing) sex taking more importance over love (virgins always get backstage) it's the truth behind stories of princesses and love and the lies in "camelot" (king arthur having a child through incest with his sister, Guinevere not loving him but loving Lancelot who was arthur's best friend) and how fairytales are exactly just that, and just because you don't have a "fairytale" doesn't mean your life isn't Beautiful.
