| Song describes a relationship where singer loves the girl, although the relationship is not good for him for whatever reason (who knows - she lies? cheats? is a junkie? etc.)... Yet the singer is too in love to let her go despite any of the reasons he should.. he knows it would be best, but doesn't have the strength to do it himself, hence the 'wish you would leave me.'
