This song has two possible meanings for me. It can either be a song about falling in love Or having your heart broken. "It's like forgetting the words to your favorite song You can't believe it You were always singing along It was so easy and the words so sweet You can't remember You try to feel the beat" Either you've never been in love before, or you've been living a life of sadness, so you fell in this daily monotonous routine, then when you're struck by love, you wonder how you ever lived your old life. Or when you have your heart broken, you've forgotten how to live again and you're simply lost and don't know where to go. |

| Being a long time Regina Spektor fan, I know a lot about her mind set, and when I heard this song, I IMMEDIATELY recognized the small town obviously being the place where she's been her whole life, and she wants to have a new start and live somewhere new. She wants to move and live in a new location, but she's wondering how she's going to be able to leave without hurting the people she grew up with and shaped her to who she is. | |
