Such a beautiful song <3
I especially love the zoo-imagery and that wintery scene, and the neologism "eingeplustert" is simply adorable. |

When first hearing the song I thought that "addiction"-stuff could be taken literally, as if the song is about someone who was addicted to something for a long time and somehow fought his way out, or is still fighting. It could be an actual addiction to drugs, or perhaps to a certain person or whatever.
The "if you chose life"-lines sound to me as if someone experienced a life-or-death-situation, perhaps has been suicidal, and now has to live with some kind of fear (caused by the addiction?) and has to deal with it. |

This was the first song by Coeur de Pirate I heard, and it still is my favourite; I love the softness of her voice in every song, but this piece touches something very deep in my heart. |

That's extremely sad but very beautiful as well.
There is that melancholic feeling to it, as if a part of him isn't sure if he will be able to make it without the other person. |

Perhaps it's about someone who has been betrayed by his partner and can't trust him again, but wants him to explain himself instead of just leaving? |

I pretty much agree on the precious interpretation; to me, it has a personal meaning as well.
I lost a loved one, she died, and I know the feeling to feel her in the distance, but of course she seems far away. "Are you gone or are you with me?/In my heart I'll never know" can then mean that I am asking myself if she is still there as some kind of ghost or has gone to Heaven, or is just not there anymore. There is no possibility of finding out what happened to her soul and stuff like that.
Without her it's sometimes difficult to find my own way back, home as well as through life. |

I think its about finding yourself and that your only fault is being who you are, not that you are there.
It's a beautiful song that almost never fails to make me happy when I'm sad. |

I guess it's about a relationship that ended in a not-so-nice way or perhaps an unrequited love the singer tried very hard to forget about, but then the guy appears again and she remembers, and it hurts again - especially because her love interest still doesn't feel the way she does. |

First of all - I do not know the Twilight movies, so I'm free of any connections to this.
The song seems to me like talking about doing something for a very long time ("and the days will come and go/and the band will march along"), perhaps some kind of job or something, you really don't like or that doesn't fit your personality, until it actually changes you into something you weren't before and perhaps never wanted to be. |

To me, this is a very sad song, which often reminds me of a loved one I lost; she died from cancer, and I couldn't accept she was gone, I thought for a very long time I wouldn't be able to love someone else.
I definitely thought I would never need my lips again to kiss somebody or something like this.
The feeling gradually vanished, although I'm still not all over it, but the song always makes me think of it. |

Ich glaube, es geht auch um den Drang, etwas hinterlassen zu wollen und nicht einfach unterzugehen und zu verschwinden. Dabei übersieht man aber leicht, dass man, egal was man tut, im Leben Spuren hinterlässt. |

| Sia – Butterflies Lyrics

"Because we came from the same cocoon" could mean they're some kind of soulmates, since in Acnient Greece the souls of the dead were associated with butterflies, and the word for butterfly is "psyche" - which also means "soul".
So I think the song is about a couple who has gone trough good and bad times together, but is meant to be together no matter what happens to them. Perhaps the hard times even strenghten their relationship. |
