Jack Off Jill – Witch Hunt Lyrics 11 years ago
Umm...okay, so these really aren't right, but oh well! I agree with what SpeakOutloud16 said the lyrics were - but it doesn't matter I guess, it's still an amazing song! Listening to this in the dark after too much coffee and reading HP Lovecraft gave me the chills...but I liked it...! Brilliant lyrics; I now definitely know the pain of the witches that have been burnt over the centuries. I'm descended from some women who were accused of being witches, actually, so...yeah!

Jack Off Jill – Nazi Halo Lyrics 11 years ago
Hmm, I definitely think it has something to do with a gay/lesbian relationship, because of the line "your faggot rainbow," but I'm pretty sure JOJ aren't homophobic if anyone's wondering that! I think it's talking about a lesbian/gay relationship that ended, and now whoever's singing this song (in this case the wonderful Jessicka) is saying all the things they once loved have turned bitter.

Emilie Autumn – Scavenger Lyrics 11 years ago
Wow, I love this song. Can I just take a moment to point out how bloody EPIC EA's new album is? Okay, so this is possibly one of the most atmospheric songs I've ever heard: the industrial, scraping background; the dark vocals and lyrics; the twisted storyline... It's perfect!
I personally think this song is either about necrophilia (oh yes, I just said that world) or someone who's paid to kill people. It might be about someone who steals for a living, which is quite plausible with all the lines about thievery in the song.

Red Hot Chili Peppers – Porcelain Lyrics 11 years ago
I think it's got something to do with the idea of not wanting to do anything any more, not wanting to care, not wanting to become anything when you grow older. You don't give a damn about anyone any more, not even your own child, and you don't give a damn if you let yourself go. It's a really good song; I've been into this band since I was really young!

Foo Fighters – Razor Lyrics 11 years ago
I think it's about being really depressed, so pain and stuff becomes your only hope. You don't think anything's gonna work out, so things like pain and cutting (unfortunately) become a saviour, instead of actual happiness. Or, it's a song about shaving while you're drunk! It's dangerous, but feeling drunk might feel amazing, and Dave Grohl has a beard. So yeah. Epic song!

Slipknot – Scissors Lyrics 11 years ago
I think it's kinda about trying to let the real you out, but taking it too far and actually physically cutting yourself open for the whole world to see. If you want people to know who you are, and you wanna find out who you really are for yourself, then you've gotta make that kinda sacrifice. It's an awesome song!!

Florence + the Machine – My Best Dress Lyrics 11 years ago
This is one of my favourite Florence songs, which is a shame, since it's never played live any more it seems, and was never released, and isn't likely to be. It's really quite creepy, but it's awesome! I think it's somehow about a girl whose lover died, and she hasn't quite let it go, even when she's with someone else, all she can think about is him.

My Chemical Romance – Zero Percent Lyrics 11 years ago
I think it's about the government and society and the media trying to make us all perfect citizens, clones of what they think of as the "perfect human being". It's about rebelling against that, and being whatever and whoever you want to be. It's brilliant, and a really fun song considering it's about how cr*p the world is. Awesome :D

My Chemical Romance – Desert Song Lyrics 11 years ago
This song makes me cry; there's the meaning that it has for Gerard, and then the meaning it has for me.
I'm pretty sure the meaning it has for Gerard (and the rest of the band) is about addictions and depression, and any similar issues you might have in your life. It's them trying to say you've got to carry on, no matter how terrible your situation is.
For me, it's a sad description of my life. I'll explain it line by line...
"We hold in our hearts the sword and the faith"
I always feel like I've got too much guilt and pain in my heart, but then also too much hope and imagination, and the conflict is difficult.
"Swelled up from the rainclouds, move like a wraith"
I feel quite dark and miserable a lot of the time, and people say I act as if I'm dead, like a ghost.
"Well after all, we'll lie another day"
I come close to death quite often (you can guess how) but I always just about manage to stop. I'm glad of this, trust me.
"And through it all, we'll find some other way to carry on, through cartilage and fluid"
All the problems in my life become quite physical, but I'll try my best to keep going, and not give up. Fluid might also be referring to medicine.
"And did you come to stare or wash away the blood?"
People are either going to look at me like a freak - I have depression, it's possible I'm bipolar, I self-harm (which is a bad idea, don't do it) - or try and help me. Sometimes I don't know which is best.
"Well tonight, well tonight will it ever come?"
I feel like I'm waiting for something, I just don't know what.
"Spend the rest of your days rocking out just for the dead"
I feel like everything I do is pointless, and I feel dead, so whatever I enjoy is technically just putting life back into a corpse.
"I can see you awake any time in my head"
I feel more connected to the people I dream/imagine inside my head than anyone else; I feel more related to music and musicians I love than my own family.
"Did we all fall down? From the lights to the pavement, from the van to the floor"
I constantly feel like I'm heading downhill, towards an unsatisfactory end.
"From backstage to the doctor"
I'm prone to accidents, deliberate or not, and people try to help with pills and such.
"From the earth to the morgue"
As aforementioned, I feel more dead than alive.
So yeah, that's MY miserable interpretation. Beautiful song.

My Chemical Romance – Interlude Lyrics 11 years ago
This is a seriously haunting and beautiful track on Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge; it's a nice refresher after the awesomeness that is The Jetset Life Is Gonna Kill You. I think the meaning's pretty clear: it's about trying to protect someone you love, even if you don't know what's going to happen, like you have no idea when either of you will die. Something like that, anyways!

Just to say to any confused fans, this is obviously a demo for the Black Parade track I Don't Love You. It sounds really good, so I'm gonna try finding it on YouTube. Anyone got a link...?

My Chemical Romance – Romance Lyrics 11 years ago
This was originally a classical piece of guitar music (can't remember who by) and the genius MCR have added some sounds in the background that sounds like static on a transceiver. It's a really beautiful and slightly eerie start to their brilliant first album, which I've loved since I first heard it. I find it hilarious that it's on a website about lyric meanings, though! It's got no lyrics! Beautiful.

My Chemical Romance – Hang 'Em High Lyrics 11 years ago
I think this is a brilliant song, with an obvious literal interpretation and then a metaphorical meaning behind that. It's pretty obviously about a cowboy dude in Texas or something who's riding round the deserts with his lover, on the run from the police, and he's telling her not to stop if he gets killed, just to keep on going. It's metaphorically about trying to get the person you love to carry on, even without you, which shows true love more than anything else could.
God, the second time the chorus starts and Gerard sings "don't stop" pretty much without any backing noise sends shivers down my spine (very good ones). It's one of my favourite MCR lines/hooks! Brilliant song, one of my favourite from my favourite band.

My Chemical Romance – Cemetery Drive Lyrics 11 years ago
I think it's from the point of view of someone who was having a sort of friendship-slash-affair with a woman who had a husband who didn't treat her properly, but he (who sings the song) wasn't sure why he liked her so much. He thought he could connect with her in some way, maybe? She committed suicide in her home, and when he found out he became depressed and starting hanging around places like the cemetery and morgue, and thinking about death a lot. He's trying to work out what could've been happening to make everything this way, and he's trying to communicate with her desperately, even though he knows she's gone. I think the song in general is about him considering killing himself because of someone or something else.

My Chemical Romance – Cubicles Lyrics 11 years ago
My interpretation of this song is that it's about how no-one really cares about you, and everything's done for someone else, someone you don't know. Like the government, for example - everything we do is for them, but can we trust them? There's so much danger in the future (like the 9/11 attacks, which inspired Gerard to start the band) that it's pointless trying to live properly, because we're all going to die some time soon, surely? I can really relate to this song; it reminds me of that dark feeling of not wanting to bother any more, not wanting to try, and not caring at all. Also, the references to romance in this song I think symbolise the fact that love probably won't work out for whoever sings this, because they don't care about them either, and it doesn't matter because they'll both end up dead in the end.
