Ed Harcourt – Rain On The Pretty Ones Lyrics
| 12 years ago
|
Fascinating, but wrong. Not one human has not been through loss, such as the death of a parent; friend; schoolmate; or the loss of an important relationships; reputation; career; etc. Not one has not held insecurities and fears. Not one has not felt doubt; sadness; anger; frustration; etc. There are NO shiny people. There are just fallible human beings who often hide their feelings from the world and only appear "pretty." It's arrogant to think that one person has more pain in his/her life than another. NOBODY knows what goes on behind closed doors...and big fascades. |

The Mamas & the Papas – Monday, Monday Lyrics

Love the band. Mama Cass was especially talented. A song about a couple where one of them comes home for the weekend, but is gone on Monday morning. Sounds like a song about a long distance trucker, which would make sense considering the number of truckers on the highways back in the 60's. |

It's such a beautiful spiritual. Secret Garden's original version is my favorite along with Russell Watson's, but this cover is beautiful as well. It's the one song I always retreat to when I've been hurt by family; friends; or just life circumstance. It's so uplifting. So calming. |

Maybe I could say "wow'; chew gum; and be ever so entertaining getting drunk and acting like a complete idiot before you screw my brains out while calling me the wrong name. How's that for bringing something to your damn table. |

I see so many good things, which is again what you couldn't seem to hear. It wasn't a judgment. It was a plea for you to try harder to see in you what others see. And those are wonderful qualities and talents and accomplisments. Narrow minded? Perhaps. We can't always see our own faults. Self Righteous? At times. It's one of my many faults. But I have never felt brighter than anyone else. I am of average intelligence, that's it. I have pet peeves about grammar, but I make plenty of mistakes w/o anyone's help. I just like ribbing others about theirs. There is plenty about me that I don't like. Plenty. But don't deflect and change the topic because you're uncomfortable with it. I make no apologies for caring. And I make none for hopefully giving you cause to think. And I will never EVER apologize for speaking my mind. If you don't like it, tune me out...which you apparently already have done. |

Well, you sure as H*ll don't hear it. You have the thickest skull at times. You're FINE. You're more than FINE. We all have warts. Some of us have more through no fault of our own. Big deal. We all have strengths. You happen to have more than the average person. God blessed you with so many incredible gifts. Your glass has always been half full, but to you it's always almost empty. Don't allow that fighting spirit (that will to always succeed) die. Please. I'm begging you. Do it for you, not for me. Think of what's ahead, not just what's happening today or two months from now. Never mind. You are too stubborn to ever let anyone tell you anything (and you actually listen). Goodnight. I'm very tired. And you frustrate me. |

And you need to rid yourself of this middle aged, ignorant. angry redneck persona who has a hankering for improper grammar. What is so wrong with you that you have to be someone else? NOTHING. And there lies the problem. Well, 99% of them anyway. |

It went over your thick head. I'm the pile of poo. See, you poop on me and then the scent attracts you. I should have used a wolves analogy, but it's too late now. |

Oh, this is not angry. Trust me on that. I just cannot tolerate grammatical errors, expecially when they are intentional....kind of like nails on an old fashioned chalkboard. |

I've heard both and I concur. Stevie will always be my favorite guitarist. He played that instrument as though it was an extention of his arm. |

Heart – All I Want to Do Is Make Love to You Lyrics
| 12 years ago
|
It is SUCH a good song. I love listening to this via Youtube. I choose to believe this is not a song about a one night stand, because a one night stand would not involve love. And there is NOTHING better than the emotional nakedness that exists when two people know each other well and love each other in spite of it;) Sex is for amateurs (even if I can't spell the stoopid word). Love is the most passionate of emotions, especially in the bedroom. |

Agreed. It's an excellent song. You left out the part about him missing someone who apparently matters a great deal to him. Very sad but good tune. |

Foster the People – Pumped Up Kicks Lyrics

I'm sorry, but you are wrong. The highest rate of violence in the schools (by teens and pre-teens) occurred in the early 1990's. It's a stat that can be checked/proven. Children are more likely to die from being hit by a car on their way to/from school than from gun or other violence in school. It's just that we hear the negatives; the positives aren't as much fun for our yellow press to publish. There is NO epidemic. And with all the school anti bullying groups and policies, schools are more pleasant for kids these days than they were for kids of decades past. |

David Bazan – Bearing Witness Lyrics

GO TO BED ! Don't you EVER sleep. And what a crock..."true agnostics/atheists to be people who respect the right of the individual to choose for themselves"....sure, as long as they can ridecule and blast those of faith. Most are so insecure in their own beliefs (or lack thereof) that they can't stomach someone believing s/he is not the center of his own universe. They believe there's a possiblity of life on other planets even though they can't see it, but God? Forget it! "Religion and faith are divergent systems"? Hey, I'm sorry your mama and papa followed the fire and brimstone approach to faith and that they beat it into you, but God has little to do with roadside preachers. This song (to me) is simply about doubt. It's about a small man/woman who believes he needs to see God and his miracles to believe. That is rather ironic because I look outside my window each morning and see God...He's in the design of the earth; the procreation of man with woman; the Golden Rule being utilized; man volunteering his time to help those less fortunate...etc. |

Crock ! A believe in no God is no different than a belief in God. Not one of us can either prove or disprove God. That's why it's called faith. You either believe or you don't. And I have met just ONE Atheist (other than I) in my lifetime who was not an arrogant prick, and I was an Atheist for over 20 years. |

It's called bond. And even the poorest often get it providing the court believes their crimes are not so heinous that they are a threat to the general public. And I don't believe "crown" means what you said it does. I believe it is much like the crown Jesus wore before he was killed. S/he's saying that the brother does not deserve what's occurring. He's been falsely accussed and the odds are stacked against him. WHAT is your preoccupation with capitalism, a system that has shown it is much better than any socialist system that ever was (and then failed....since they all eventually do)? When people work hard and save (and others in charge don't steal the $$$), capitalism is a great system. |

Oh, Sleeper – Claws Of A God Lyrics

I hope you are not advocating a free-for-all with regard to acceptance of sin. The piece about not judging is always taken out of context (ie. the rest of the writing on the topic is omitted). There are many Truths that God expects us to support and sins he expects us to condemn (the action, not the person). As for the song, I believe it's about false prophets...nothing more. |
