Another beautiful song by IM. I believe the back up vocals are from her husband Greg Laswell, which makes the song even better! The song is basically about life. The phrase "into the dark and wonderful unknown" sums up that we just don't know what is around the corner, but with love in our life we will be ok. The song also suggests different paths that our life can/may or may not take. We all imagine what the future may bring like "little ones are climbing up the walls" ... "nothing more to say goodbye to a friend".... Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful song. |

What a happy, uplifting & fun song! The feeling of new love and being on top of the world. Then compare the acoustic version - same words and meaning, but leaves a completely different feeling, almost conveys tears of happiness. So much emotion when she sings. Love both versions. |

I love a good breakup song and I think this is what Electric is about. I think her memories of him are what "fill her up" and "break her down". This song is absolutly stunning! Her voice is amazing and it is so beautifully written. I think the song can be taken so many ways, but the way I hear it or the way I relate to is that she can't get over her ex. They aren't in contact anymore (neither friend nor foe) but he keeps pulling her in and she can't let him go. He holds her without touch, keeps her without chains suggest that he is not even around but something is always bringing her back to him, she can't let him go and its hindering her from moving on. He is her gravity, even though she knows its unhealthy - she can't forget him. JMO. |
