Antony and the Johnsons – Spiralling Lyrics | 9 years ago |
Like everyone I've had my own interpretation of what the last lines where (which I thought it repeated "Hail, Ray Barone" which is ludicrous. I know.) but the last part repeats "Held brave Roäc". Roäc is from the Tolkien stories, who is a helpfully and brave raven who advises Thorin to try and negotiate with Bard. Roäc accompanies Thorin search for the dwarves and delivers messages for them even though he vocally disagrees with their plans. |
FKA Twigs – Water Me Lyrics | 9 years ago |
I agree with eysaatheon, I think the song is about a relationship between people. The person speaking (she) wants more from their sexual relationship and so she sets her "fee" which is demanding something more than sexual relationship or it's their current relationship is over. He then tells her that that's too much weight on their current relationship (she uses "pounds" as a simile for heavy thing she's asking from him). "I guess I'm stuck with me" seems to be could be either a thought but more so something she says to him in retort which causes him to defensively calls her "small" (small minded, pity). And so, her comeback to him is "Water me. I promise I can grow tall. When making love is free". Mean if he nourishing her/their relationship she'll grow more mentally and emotionally and that she won't have to play these games if he just accepts her wager - by watering her and then their loving/sex won't have a mental/emotional fee for her/him because it will be free. IDK Those are just my thoughts when I hear it. |
CocoRosie – Turn Me On Lyrics | 10 years ago |
Better late then never but what she says is: French passage: C'est pour toutes les reines massacrées de Jamaïque. Translated passage: That's to all the slaughtered/massacred queens of Jamaïca. |
Great Northern – Stop Lyrics | 11 years ago |
For some strange reason I think that the song is about someone with a memory problem (ie. alzheimers) or someone just losing something - its more of a father/son relationship with the son writing/sing the song. He (the father) has put himself away or is keeping everyone that he loves dear away "cutting them at their feet" because he's losing them (and can't see their faces a more because the memories are fading). And well to make a long story short the song both of them are telling each other to "stop" and notice that he's not the only one losing something. Well that my interpretation. |

I really like this song. I was introduce to me while watching the finale season of 'The Big C' and it made the episode with a theme about death and cat being a reaper of death quite serene and beautiful. (random rant, sorry) |

Yes. For the longest I thought it was my cat and kept looking for him. Lol. |
Florence + the Machine – Bedroom Hymns Lyrics | 11 years ago |
i believe it definitely is "split milk tea". it's a turn of phrase (an english one i believe). "milk tea" is tea with milk. simply, right, florence just used it as a clever phrase. |
Rachael Yamagata – Elephants Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Lyrics - Rachael Yamagata Lyrics - Elephants Lyrics Artist: Rachael Yamagata Elephants Lyrics Related - Biography - Albums - Lyrics - Send "Elephants" Ringtones to Cell If the elephants have past lives, Yet are destined to always remember, It's no wonder how they scream, Like you and I, they must have some temper. And I am dreaming of them on the plains, Dirtying up their beds, Watching for some kind of rain To cool their hot heads. And how dare that you send me that card When I'm doing all that I can do. You are forcing me to remember When all I want is to just forget you. If the tiger shall protect her young, Then tell me how did you slip by. All my instincts have failed me for once I must have somehow slept the whole night. And I am dreaming of them with their kill, Tearing it all apart, Blood dripping from their lips, And teeth sinking in to heart. And how dare that you say you will call, When you know I need some peace of mind.. If you had to take sides with the animals, Won't you do it with one who is kind? If the hawks in the trees need the dead, If you're living you don't stand a chance. For a time, though you share the same bed, There are only two ends to this dance. You can flee with your wounds just in time, Or lie there as he feeds, Watching yourself ripped to shreds And laughing as you bleed. So for those of you falling in love, Keep it kind, keep it good, keep it right. Throw yourself in the midst of danger, But keep one eye open at night. |
CocoRosie – Trinity's Crying Lyrics | 13 years ago |
The lyrics should read: I love you I cried on your mother's shoulder Like a broken hearted soldier She knew and I knew What all the tears were for Weary exhausted flames of light Weary exhausted flames of light Weary exhausted flames of light Trinity's crying Trinity's crying Trinity's crying Trinity's crying I love you, I love you I love you, I love you Weary exhausted flames of light Weary exhausted flames of light Trinity's crying Trinity's crying Trinity's crying Trinity's crying ----- My interpretation is that I think the song in its simplest form is about heartbreak or loss of a loved one. I could possibly be about losing move more because of the 'Like a broken hearted soldier'. Many times when soldiers have return home from war and such things they've found that their wife, husband or girlfriend or boyfriend have found another love. Though as I think about it hidden part about her and her mother knowing but not saying that Trinity is cry's for could be about that Trin had loved someone from afar again maybe the guy or girl broken Trinity's heart without knowing it so she's crying, though these tears are weary exhausted flames of light that always flicker. |
Katie Melua – If You Were A Sailboat Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I generally think that this song is great and beautiful and quite unique for what it is. And while the Cine's comments says that the song is full of worse less metaphors I don't think so. The song is more than just cleverest metaphors that Katie could come up with. The song to me is explaining that she has need to need or what one person in particular. And it seems that she uses the metaphors as a why of says that no matter what form of 'life' their in ie. him being a house and she buying the house to live in or she being the dusty trail he needs to ride his horse on as a cowboy, that they'll always have this need for each other. It also seems that his person that she's talking about (or singing too) seem they met time and time again which instead of destroying her belief in fate it reassures her belief in fate something which she seems to be unsure of. I also have to disagree with Sapphire's comment about being worried about the "If you were a piece of wood I'd nail you to the floor" - to me it shows Kate's funny side and just how clever of song write she is. Plus the line can be taken out of text and thought of as something sexual or just thought of as just another line. Though I like think of the line out of text as its much more funnier. |
Oh Land – Wolf and I Lyrics | 13 years ago |
The lyrics should be: Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh In the endless sky we are but one In my dreams wolf and I Before the world you know was like it is I held a lover once and I was his And we walked along the river in the sun But he's a lonely man, so this was done The only place we had to meet was night While the sun he sleeps in shadows we can hide On the mountainside we spent our time together But it is gone when morning comes And you are the wolf And I am the moon Moooooooon And in the endless sky we are but one We are alive In my dreams wolf and I How many days and nights will come and go While the only light you'll see is from my glow There will never be a dawn that breaks the spell surrounding us Til the earth dies with the sun And you are the wolf And I am the moon Moooooooon And in the endless sky we are but one We are alive In my dreams wolf and I And you are the wolf And I am the moon Moooooooon And in the endless sky we are but one We are alive In my dreams wolf and I Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh Aaah aaah aaah aaaah aaah Aaah aaah aaah aaaah aaah In the endless sky we are but one In my dreams wolf and I Hmmmm mmm --------------------------------------------------------- Okay for my interpretation of the song I believe it's about a man that once her boyfriend "lover" and they had public relationship but maybe he got married someone else and she was forced to become his lover because she felt they where soulmates. That's why she describes she and him (them) as the wolf and moon, something mythical that we call she as one from the werewolf tell. Still even though they are soulmates and he has married someone else the "sun" she has her nightly affairs with him. Seeing him only at night by her own wicked glow on the mountainside or for possibly better term love shack and then he leaves at dawn to return the sun to "sleep," in this home. As most wolves/werewolves come to their senses in the dawn on morning. She seems to even be confused by his action and seems to plead or say him how long will these go on. And even answers the question herself but saying that I their nightly affair won't end until sun dies. This possibly could mean the death of either him and his wife's relationship or the wife's true death. But this could also mean with her being the moon and the his wife being the sun that they would all die if even one of them died as the sun, moon, and earth all work as one. So the relationship/affair is doomed to possibly go on forever. I don't know. These is just my translation of these beautiful lyrics. |
